A few dishes worth trying in Bangkok are the green papaya salad, chicken in coconut soup, Pad Thai, spicy beef salad and chicken in cashew nuts, among others. If you’re willing to push your boundaries a bit, you can experiment with some “delicious” insects like grasshoppers, bamboo worms and even scorpions! Vegetarians needn't be disheartened as there are plenty of options including Indian restaurants in the city. Bangkok even has a Vegetarian Food Festival during the ninth lunar month (September or October) every year. During this time, look out for yellow flags fluttering outside restaurants signifying pure vegetarian food.
