Indeed, it took 3 days, around a dozen text messages, 11 calls and a hell lot of spunk to shoehorn this interview, while finding a spare moment in Farah’s super tight schedule! After all, choreographer turned film director, producer, and now actor too, Farah Khan has to split her time between work and her four-and-a-half year old triplets. Although being in the film industry already gives her a chance to travel extensively, her dil craves to show the world to her kids. Recently back from an exciting trip to Disneyland, Hong Kong with her brood, this tongue-in-cheek supermom talks about what keeps her travelling…errr…ticking.

Celeb-Travelogue-action

BG: Your idea of a perfect holiday.

Farah: For me, a holiday totally means ‘MY’ time – eating, relaxing, showing the world to my kids and seeing the world in a new light through three brand new sets of eyes.

BG: Your ‘home away from home’ is…

Farah: London! (She quickly answers, even before I could complete the question.) That’s my comfort zone and THE place I do all my shopping from.

BG: The most bizarre cuisine you’ve ever tried. Farah:

I’ve never eaten anything as bizarre as crocodiles or snakes! Being a part of show-business, I’m lucky to have travelled to some of the greatest exotic destinations, but, Indian cuisine is the best.

BG: 5 things you always carry with you when travelling.

Farah: Myself, my three kids (Czar, Diva and Anya), my maid…and Shirish (Farah’s husband) only sometimes (she says with an emerging smirk).

BG: Your best travel pal is…

Farah: Has to be my maid. Here’s a tip: If you’re travelling with kids, please, please, spend some more money and take a maid along; otherwise, your holiday won’t remain a holiday.

BG: Your starkest travel experience.

Farah: The starkest has to be the one in Alaska where I ALMOST died. It was some nine or 10 years ago while we were shooting for the movie Pukaar. I was standing on a glacier when suddenly the ice started to melt and become quicksand. Unfortunately, I got badly stuck in it. You won’t believe it…my driver had to drive for 2 hours to manage getting flat boards from a gas station to rescue me. I’m not exaggerating, but it was a deadly experience. It was like a film’s intermission in my life. I missed death by a whisker, thank God!

BG: Your holiday style – Beaches/Sightseeing/History/Culture.

Farah: Beaches! I’m a total adventure person and I certainly don’t like the idea of quiet places with just mountains or scenery around.

BG: Where did you go for your honeymoon?

Farah: I had a very quick honeymoon in Koh Samui. What to do man, we were short on time and wanted to go abroad only. Koh Samui seemed like the best choice for a 3-day trip.

BG: A destination you would recommend.

Farah: Undoubtedly, Mykonos. I can never get tired of visiting it.

BG: Your dream destination is…

Farah: Trust me, I’ve got a long list…but, more than any destination, I’d love to watch the Northern Lights someday. It’s a sight to die for. Wish that day comes soon enough! With that question, the three-o return from a birthday party where Czar won the dancing competition. Not surprising considering that he gets free dance lessons from his mother! As for me, it’s time to pack up… What’s her name, what’s her name, what’s her name? Her name is Farah and this was Farah ki Kahaani.
