1. Dhungri Mela, Manali, India

Experience the local culture of Manali at the Dhungri Mela, held at the popular Hidimba Temple in Dhungri. Celebrated in the honor of Goddess Hidimba’s birth anniversary, this festival attracts locals as well as people from all over the region. It features a three-day carnival with stalls, rides, and traditional singing and dancing, of which the Kullu Natti folk dance is the main attraction. Processions of gods and goddesses from surrounding temples and villages are also brought here as part of the colourful celebrations.

3. Moatsu Festival, Nagaland, India

Witness the beautiful state of Nagaland come alive with vibrant festivities during the Moatsu Festival. Celebrated primarily by the Ao tribe of Nagaland at the end of the planting season, this festival brings together locals as well as tourists from other parts of the country. It features the best of Nagaland’s culture and traditions, with Sangpangtu being the main highlight. This symbolic celebration involves men and women sitting around a big fire in their best attire and feasting on wine and meat. Rice beer, unique to this festival, is a must try here.

4. Bayou Country Superfest, New Orleans

A must-not-miss for country music lovers, the Bayou Country Superfest is held every Memorial Day weekend. It brings together the biggest country music artists for a three-day celebration of local and international country acts. The eighth edition of the festival this May, also features a free outdoor concert on the first day, besides the ticketed events of the following days.
