FOOD & SHOPPING
There are only two kinds of people in this world – those who live to eat and those who love to eat. No matter which category you fall in, Fine Food India, the 3rd International Food, Drinks, Equipment and Technology Expo, to be held in New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan from December 3rd to 5th, will surely be of interest to you. With one of the finest gatherings of national and international representatives from the food and hospitality industry, it promises to be an incredible learning and networking experience for all participants.
A Taste of Things to Come
Touted as the latest and most upscale trade event of its kind, the expo is organised by Diversified Communication. It will provide retailers, bakers, hotels, food and kitchen equipment companies the opportunity to not only display their products and services, but also network with over 150 national and international exhibitors. This is aimed at increasing visibility and networks and bringing industry representatives up to date with the newest products, services and advances in food and equipment technology. With a well thought out exhibition plan and lay out, the exhibition area will be divided into different product zones to ensure easy accessibility and visibility.
Dishing Out with Flair
Don’t envision this as just another trade show; this one’s got a whole gamut of interesting events planned out for the participants. Among the highlights are the Business Theatre where industry experts will come together to discuss issues of relevance to the food industry, including special forums for chefs, retailers, exporters, importers and restaurants; the Tasting Room where buyers will be invited to taste the best of products from cheese to wine; Culinary Master Class Theatre where the best chefs from the country and abroad will display their skills; and the very interesting Drinks Academy where sommeliers and wine experts will teach the fine art of wine, beer and spirit tasting and representatives from well-known vineyards will talk about issues related to the industry. The expo will also provide for a VIP Lounge and Networking Café were professionals can hold one-on-one discussions.
How to Get There
Pragati Maidan is one of the country’s best known exhibition grounds. The exhibition will be held in Halls 12 and 12A. Participants can reach New Delhi by air from most major cities and towns in the country. Air-conditioned cabs and taxis are available from the airport, as well as on call, and will take you directly to your hotel or the venue.
Where to Stay
The capital boasts some of the best national and international hotels including The Lalit , Hyatt Regency, Le Meridien, The Imperial and the The Taj Mahal Hotel.
Where to Eat
Those looking to live it up a little after work can head to a number of chic watering holes and restaurants in the city. These range from Dublin, an Irish pub in the swanky ITC Maurya Sheraton to the popular F Bar at the Ashok Hotel. Do not forget to try lip-smacking Mughlai food at the Bukhara in the ITC Maurya Sheraton and the open all night Yellow Brick Road at the Vivanta by Taj Ambassador Hotel.
