Pick the Trends

Every collection is a heavily guarded secret, after all, behind all the sparkle and glamour of the fashion world, is a lucrative business where trademark designs are protected and style innovation is held in people’s memories for decades to come. Everyone wants the glory of being the first to market with the designs that takes the famous and glamorous by storm.

Last year’s Fall and Winter fashion trends from Milan featured a brilliant bevy of purple fever. From delicate violets to vibrant explosions of grape to sparkling amethysts, this regal hue overtook the catwalks. The big question on everyone’s lips is what colour will be adorning us through spring and summer this year?

Follow the Style Setters

Italian design is clever, sophisticated and just a little playful. Think of that daring black Versace dress with a plunging neckline, holding Elizabeth Hurley in with nothing more than a few silver safety pins, or Madonna playing a cheeky fantasy housewife oozing sensuality dressed only in Dolce & Gabbana. For the bold, nothing screams rock and roll more than a bright leopard print from Roberto Cavalli ready to pounce.

While the men’s fashion week was held in January, it would be remiss of me not mention how George Clooney just depicts the epitome of suave when he dons his signature Armani suit.

As one of the leading countries in the fashion design, attending Milan Fashion Week is on the top of any serious fashion buyer’s list. Organised by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, this festival in Italy appears to run with effortless style, whilst behind the scenes there are thousands of operators making sure that each collection and show goes off without a hitch. Hosting over 170 shows and presentations, hosting the Milan Fashion Show is no small feat.

A Style to Suit Everyone

So it is time to strap on some Sergio Rossi pumps, grab your Fendi clutch, slip on a Gucci gown and head to Milan. Whether your preferred style is naughty but nice or clean and crisp, there is something for everyone at this international fashion show. Home of Valentino, Versace, Prada and Armani, you simply can’t miss this event.

But the fashion week doesn’t end in Italy, if you can’t get enough of the latest trends and styles then you have to also head to Paris, London and New York to check out what to wear no matter where you are.
