As we said our goodbyes to the shor in the city of Mumbai, we were excited to hit the State Highway to Alibag. About 100 kilometres from Mumbai, it takes roughly 3.5 hours to get there, courtesy, bad roads and traffic jams. But you can make a pit stop at the Karnala Bird Sanctuary to keep the journey interesting.

Know Your Onions

Sweet onions! Ever tried these?

Upon reaching Vadkhal, a small town a few kilometers short of Alibag, you are bound to notice the small bunches of white onions hanging at shops. Well, that’s a special kind of meetha pyaaz with huge medicinal benefits. It is believed that their daily intake will keep ailments like diabetes and asthma at bay. You can buy a bunch for just 100 bucks.

Making Memories Unlimited at Kihim Beach.

Surprisingly our energy levels were still strong by the time we reached Alibag. We headed straight to the Kihim Beach to make the most of our time, and trust me, it was love at first sight. The soft sand leaves a gorgeous trail behind as the soothing waters of the Arabian Sea coax you to think about existence, life, et al.

Rajveer's Stall - MakeMyTrip's Trip Stop Recommendation!

Kihim Beach’s biggest strength lies in the fact that it is not crowded. It is not even teeming with hawkers to hassle you with random buys. But what it does have is lovely (though few) options to pamper the taste buds. We found a good spot at Rajveer’s Stall run by a really sweet guy called Francis along with his wife. The missal pao we had here was simply mind blowing and got them the Trip Stop recommendation from us.

And now we head towards our abode in Alibag, Hotel Samudra City. Tell you more about it tomorrow!
