Q) What should I wear in Darjeeling?
A: You should pack clothes according to the Darjeeling weather. Here are some suggestions on what to wear as per the Darjeeling temperature and weather –
If you are visiting in March – April, the days will be pleasant but mornings and evenings could be chilly. Carry leg-covering clothing like jeans and trousers, or salwars, along with shoes and socks. Carry a windcheater, 2-3 light woolens and a shawl. If you plan to go out for dinner, then you could pack a cap or muffler too. For a trip during the months of October and November, you should expect the Darjeeling weather to be similar to that of March-April and pack accordingly. Later in November the town can get a lot colder so add a few more woolens.
During the summer months of May and June, Darjeeling temperature will be warm and you can dress light during the day with shorts, T shirts, capris, jeans etc. But do pack something woolen for the evening, like a jacket or sweater. Also carry shoes in case you plan to walk around and do excursions. You should pack similarly for travelling during the monsoon (July to September), but add rain wear and perhaps a windcheater.
If you are travelling to Darjeeling in winter (December to February), expect the Darjeeling temperate to range between 10 degrees and 0 degrees. Pack heavy woolens, thermals, woolen cap, gloves, etc.
