Hotels have come a long way serving as hosts to the glitterati of tinsel town. Be it Bollywood or Hollywood, some hotels have always been the favourite pick for filming of movies. The fact that some of your favourite stars have stayed in a particular hotel is reason enough for you to relive the scenes from the movies, isn’t it?

Here are four hotels where some of the most popular movies of all time have been shot:

Remember the grand wedding of Kalki Koechlin in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani? When I watched the movie, I also dreamt of having a big fat Punjabi wedding with an awe-inspiring décor. Well, if you’re looking out for a magical, destination wedding or maybe just a luxurious stay in a similar setting, the Oberoi Udaivilas in Udaipur is where you should be headed. The royal dome-styled architecture standing beautifully on the banks of Lake Pichola, makes it the perfect place to spend not just quality time, but live life king-size.

Bobby: Hotel Highlands Park, Gulmarg

When someone talks about the movie Bobby, the first thing that comes to my mind is the song ‘Hum tum ek kamre mein band ho.’ Did you know, the hut where this song was filmed is a part of Hotel Highlands Park in Gulmarg? Interestingly, this room numbered 305 became a tourist attraction post the release of the movie. In fact, Shah Rukh Khan stayed in the same room while shooting for Jab Tak Hai Jaan. No wonder then, a lot of honeymooners especially pre-book this room to kindle their romance.

Pataudi Palace, a former palace of the Nawabs of Pataudi has been converted into a heritage property and is the filming location of many movies. The property served as the home of Zaara Hayat Khan (played by Preity Zinta) in Veer Zaara, Yash Chopra’s epic love story. The song ‘Main Yahaan Hoon Yahaan’ featuring Shahrukh and Preity was shot in the property itself. In fact, the Hollywood movie Eat Pray Love featuring Julia Roberts (who came looking for spirituality in India) was also filmed here. This spectacular white palace exudes an old world charm that takes you back into the time of royalty. The lavish rooms and sprawling gardens offer an experience that is unmatched.  Did you know that Pataudi Palace is Saif Ali Khan’s ancestral property, which is why the ‘Saifeena’ wedding took place here?
