The holy Chardham yatra is one of the most sought-after pilgrimages. Devotees eagerly await to undertake this spiritual journey, especially during the peak months, starting from March-April.

This yatra, which is approximately a 1600 km route, can be started from Haridwar or Rishikesh, though Delhi also offers a prime starting location owing to its connectivity to all major cities in the country. One can check the Chardham Yatra package for more details.

Ideally, there are four routes from which one can start this holy journey:

  1. Haridwar
  2. Rishikesh
  3. Dehradun
  4. Delhi

The Chardham Yatra is done in the following sequence:

● Ideally, this is the route that is followed by the devotees.

● According to Hindu mythology, it is considered a sacred belief that the auspicious yatra should be covered in a clockwise direction.

● Thus, the yatra starts from the West(Yamunotri), then goes through Gangotri and Kedarnath, and then finally finishes at Badrinath in the South direction.
