If only dogs could sing and cats could fly, horses could laugh and hyenas could cry,

If only the moon shone through the day and the sun lighted up the night…..

Dogs can’t sing. I don’t know who would look more idiotic – the singing/howling dog or the man teaching the dog to do so.

Cats can’t fly. Some of them tried (I helped them up the roof and gave the needed push). Poor kitties….

Horses are humorless and hyenas can’t stop laughing if their life depended on it.

But the moon does shine in the day and the sun does light up the sky during the night. ‘Where’, you ask me. In Russia, I tell you.

Oohh! Russia, all prepared for another great night!

From Russia, with Love

Recently, I had the opportunity to travel to Russia and Belarus. Moscow mesmerized me. St. Petersburg left me truly overwhelmed (so much history and elegance!). But it was Minsk, a small city in Belarus, that had me rolling on the floor (literally), screaming Michael Jackson’s hit number ‘They don’t Care About Us’.

I had heard about the absolutely unmatchable nightlife of Minsk but it took three days and three nights of partying, chilling and roaming around that finally made me a believer. It doesn’t matter if you are young or old, if you are married or single – Minsk is for everyone!

I love partying

Now, let me tell you about some of the places you can visit in Minsk and some of the things you must try in Minsk.

For Casino Dudes If you love the smell of casino, the rush of adrenaline on the blackjack table and the hushed silence before the last card is shown in a game of poker – well then, you must visit some of the casinos in Minsk. My suggestions – Shangri La Casino, Princess Casino, Victoria Casino, Belaya Vezha casino and Royal Casino.

Lost a few bucks here but had the time of my life - Shangri La Casino

Live Music aficionadosCocktails, whiskey, beautiful people all around you and live music – perfect ingredients for a night of absolute fun. Most of these live music bars play western music – rock ‘n’ roll being the most popular. My suggestions – Gosti Bar, TNT Rock Club, Doodah King Bar, Coyote Bar and O, 5 U Ratushi.

Music and drinks - i could still hear them singing Jackson's songs at TNT Rock Club!

Clubbing FansTo get on the dance floor and dance the night away – Kim Kardashian can do that and so can you! My suggestions – Dozari Nightclub, Overtime Night Club, Auroom Lounge Club, Moulin Rouge Club, The Loft Night Club and Fashion Club.

White Nights & Black Days

If you did read the blog till now, you must be wondering about the sun shining during the night and the moon showing its face during the day. Well, this is the best part about Russia. Every year, during the summers, there are days when you can see the sun shining brightly throughout the night. During winter, there are days when the sun doesn’t come out at all and you have to do with the moon smiling at you – continuous nights. So either way you look at it, you can party a whole lot more in Minsk and in Russia. And let me tell you something that would make you a little happier – Indians are much loved in Minsk and also in Russia!
