Despite what many people tend to believe, the tap water on the French Riviera is actually drinkable. It might taste a hunch of chlorine, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the water here. Many people prefer drinking bottled water, but the bottled water here is taxed with a high tax, so drinking tap water is both cheaper but also saves you the effort of having to carry heavy bottles from the store. Additionally, if you ask for water at a restaurant, they’ll often give you mineral water which you’ll have to pay for, but if you ask for a carafe of water, you’ll get tap water for free, which, again, is perfectly drinkable.
When going here, it is a good idea to learn the basics about the area so you can get around more effortlessly.
The currency used on the French Riviera is euros, and have in mind that not all places accept cards, so carrying some bills is a good idea for when you can’t use your card.
