BEACH
A trip to Andaman is on the bucket list of every travel enthusiast, and I was no exception. After several years of putting off this getaway, a friend tying the knot and moving half-way across the globe came as the perfect excuse to act on our long-standing plan of an all-girls trip to Andaman. So, we signed up for the five nights and six days Travelling Divas holiday package by MakeMyTrip and took off for a week of unbridled fun and revelry—an extended bachelorette of sorts.

We all met in Kolkata, a night before our flight to Port Blair and got straight into the holiday groove. Painting the town red till dawn, and then heading straight to the airport, we were sleep-deprived and woozy but with our spirits had just started soaring.
Having used the flying time to catch up on some much-needed sleep, we were all set to begin out Andaman explorations, which began only by late afternoon giving us ample time to relax and rejuvenate. After helping ourselves to the scrumptious lunch buffet at the hotel, we headed out to the first touristy attraction on our itinerary – the Cellular Jail. The jail isn’t exactly an architectural marvel, but given its iconic status in India’s struggle for Independence, it certainly warrants a visit and guarantees goosebumps.
It was the dinner outing on a luxury cruise that we had been looking forward to since the time we reached Port Blair, and oh did it manage to outlive our expectations and how! The water sparkled the reflection of a thousand twinkling lights, accompanied by a soothing, soft breeze, live music, exotic drinks, and a sumptuous meal. This cruise outing creates a glitzy night that's perfect for kicking off your holiday.

We had been in Andaman for almost a day now and still not hit the beach. Our itinerary for Day 2 took care of that. Excited to finally kick off the beach holiday in true earnest, we set off for a trip to Ross Island – a small, unique destination popular for its green walking trails and flocks of friendly deer. The island is largely deserted, save for some old structures now in ruins that stand testimony to its past.
We spent the better part of our morning, playing on the sandy beach, walking the trails and doubling up with laughter as we revisited some fond memories of the past.
Later in the day, a ferry took us to the most anticipated destination of our holiday – the famed Havelock Island. The timing couldn't have been better, as we were greeted with high tea and delicious snacks at the beachside café aptly named Something Different. From an Undersea Walk at Elephant Beach to parasailing and even the fun-filled banana boat rides, we indulged in every activity we could find, creating precious new memories along the way. The Undersea Walk, which brings you face-to-face with vibrant marine life, was undoubtedly the highlight of our adventures.
We built sand castles, swam in the sea, snapped every moment we could, guzzled beers by the gallon and topped it up with some amazing seafood till our stomachs grumbled with the excess of it all—just how you expect a crazy girls trip to pan out.

On Day Four, it was time to get on to the last leg of our holiday – Neil Island.
Neil Island is the quiet, serene antidote to the fast-paced fun of Havelock. The cherry on the cake were the scooties at our disposal during our stay here, which meant no more waiting for pre-arranged transfer services. Apart from the complimentary snorkelling session and the glass bottom boat ride activities, we used our time hopping from beach to beach, marvelling at the disarming beauty and serenity of the place. Besides the popular Bharatpur and Lakshmanpur beaches, one ought to explore the myriad lesser known, and thus absolutely virgin, beaches all around this island to be able to appreciate the beauty of this island in it’s true sense.
On Day 5, we returned to Port Blair and spent our time just relaxing and hanging out at the hotel, even though there were a lot of visits lined up in the itinerary. With that it was a wrap on our holiday, we flew back with our bond strengthened by a new level of crazy adventures to see us through until next time.
