We stayed at Lemon Tree Premier – Jaipur between 19th and 23rd October when the kid and I accompanied the husband on an official trip. One of the best things I like about this chain of hotels is the citrus aroma that welcomes you the moment you enter the lobby, and stays consistent no matter which corner of the hotel you are in. Accompanied with a comfortable room and great service, the stay here made for luxury for all senses. Here’s some memorable snippets from my stay…

Chilling in the room

Lemon-Tree-Jaipur

Our room was on the 7th floor, with a decent view of the city and was well equipped with a large LCD TV, tea-making apparatus, some cookies and candies, and an ironing board. All in all, super comfortable with nothing to complain about. Did I mention that the toiletries they provide are also intensely citrusy-smelling?

Service that will floor you

The staff is very helpful and accommodative, especially if you are staying with kids. We had most of our meals at the buffet layout at Slounge. The food was a tad bit spicy for the kid but the staff didn’t hesitate to cook up a little extra something and were happy to pack in some goodies for her to take up to the room. The dinner buffet is way better than the lunch buffet but there’s a rather elaborate A la Carte menu to choose from.

Republic of Noodles – The high point

If you happen to stay at Lemon Tree Premier, don’t forget to try out Republic of Noodles – one of my favorite places for Asian Food countrywide. I can’t think of any other restaurant chain that maintains that level of authenticity when it comes to Burmese, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Chinese cuisines. We ordered Prawn Sticklers (delicately flavored steamed dumplings), MHAD Noodles (crunchy and highly recommended) and Massaman Lamb Curry, which goes fabulously with steamed rice. The kid got herself some complimentary Hakka Noodles because she usually sticks to the boring stuff. The food was amazing, and the portions are hearty too!

The other joys

The hotel has a rather nice gym (not that I had anything to do with it, but FYI) and a rooftop swimming pool with an adjoining cafe. The pool is just under 5 feet deep but hey, you’re not here for Olympic style swimming anyway. It is clean and well-maintained and they have an open showering place right next to it, although it would’ve been nice if there were changing rooms right there so guests wouldn’t have to go all the way back to their rooms to wash up and change. If you aren’t up for swimming, you could always laze around on the lounge chairs by the pool. The view from the terrace is fabulous, by the way.

I spent an afternoon at the Tattva Spa and got myself a 60-minute Deep Tissue Massage (with lemony oils). The spa is as good as they come – sparkling clean, ambiently lit and fresh smelling with nice Zen music playing in the background. The staff is extremely professional, courteous and well trained in massage techniques. The experience was pure bliss and I had dozed off halfway into the massage. So if you are headed to Jaipur and have indulgence on your mind, this is a good pick for a premium stay!
