This gem of a place has acquired a special spot in the hearts of travellers for its natural beauty and warm hospitality, apart from its world famous art and literature event – The Hay Festival. Every year, thousands of people throng here to soak in this artsy fervour fuelled by an array of book stores, delectable food, exotic drinks and much more.
With its origin as old as 1988, the Hay Festival is a riot of 800 events entailing poetry, drama, nature, science, fiction, non-fiction, music, art and environment. It is usually a 10-day affair spanning May to June. Eventually, Hay Festival turned out to be such a sought-after event that it has spilled over to some other major countries as well, that includes Mexico, Peru, Colombia and Spain.
While you’re there, make sure you do more than being engrossed at the book stalls. While Hay Festival is primarily about books – there’s so much more to it than that.

A wanderer and foodie woven into one. Constantly looking out for miraculous events, those haunting encounters, and some luck of universe to be marvelled at this thing called life. While music keeps me going, I hate to stay at one place for very long. Not a Netflix junkie, but Gosh, what I wouldn’t do to watch a good old 90’s flick on big screen.
