Yes, Kandla Port is the largest port of India in terms of volume of cargo handled and this makes it the number one reason to visit the magnificent seaport on your next vacation. With the participation of both public and private sector units, the port is always gearing up to add substantial stock. You will be amused to know that the west coast port handled 72,225 million tonnes of cargo in 2008-09, which is 11% more than the 64,920 million tonnes handled in 2007-08.

Fun Fact: The seaport is 256 nautical miles southeast of the Port of Karachi in Pakistan and over 430 nautical miles north-northwest of the Port of Mumbai.
