SURPRISE ME!
This time when you visit Netherlands, and like the very classic traveller land at Amsterdam, we urge you to step away from the chicness of the capital and head to The Hague. Why? Well, because The Hague is home to Madurodam — which yes, is a miniature park, and a one-of-a-kind tourist attraction! Where else would you find the beautiful 1:25 scale replicas of famous Dutch landmarks that also, by the way, showcase the development of the rich heritage over a passage of time?
So, here are the top attractions in Madurodam, that will steal your heart away!
While Madurodam offers a plethora of exciting experiences, we highly recommend the following:
You can amp up your cool quotient at the park with several cool gadgets available there. Make use of the digital screens handed over to you to enhance your experience here. These high-tech devices help provide a rich multimedia experience, as you get to learn the story behind each eminent edifice of history!
The park has been divided into several distinct sections, each flaunting a theme of its own. These include:
• VindingRjik – It showcases how the Netherlands has become a source of inspiration, and primarily focuses on design, entertainment, Dutch architecture, and cutting edge innovation.
• StedenRjik – It focuses on the old town centers, that showcase the local culture.
• WaterRjik – It exhibits a program on the effects of water, as it turns to a foe and a friend.
• Wereldkijker – It is dedicated to the many accomplishments of the Dutch, highlighting what transformed their small country into a significant force.
Once done exploring the many fascinating attractions here, trot your way to trying snacks, ice-creams, sandwiches, and hot meals at the Taste of Holland Restaurant. There’s also a kids’ corner here, where your little ones can play and watch movies too.
Panorama Café, seated between two playgrounds, is also a great place to grab a quick bite. You will love their collection of wines, beers and juices.
Both the restaurants are accessible for wheelchair users.
Here’s your handy fact file while visiting Madurodam:
1) You can use the free Wi-Fi network of the park.
