Sitting at my workstation hustling through the day, I think about the past weekend when I was walking by the winding roads of Landour. This impromptu getaway to take a break from the mundane was highly needed. Spending my time breathing in the crispness of the leaves and soaking in the sunshine proved relaxing and rejuvenating. Sipping on a piping hot cup of tea in the morning, listening to the clock tower bell ringing far and wide, gorging upon my favourite dishes at my favourite café, taking long walks amidst the mighty deodars and rhododendrons, escaping to the other end of the town when my heart felt like and soaking in the picturesque views everywhere around – a short escape to this quaint hill town near Mussoorie felt therapeutic. The best part? I enjoyed everything at my own pace!
While on my way to Landour, I took a pit stop at Little Llama Café to gorge upon dumplings and hot chocolate. Oh, also went bonkers witnessing this amazing view of the Mussoorie Valley.
The beautiful view of the lush deodars as I walked towards Chaar Dukaan.
This is where the magic happens – got to try the best waffles and pancakes!
Getting some pictures clicked as I explored the winding roads of this hill town.
Decided to visit the best bakery in town, the Landour Bakehouse!
Drool-worthy baked goods that I relished here.
After a day of roaming around in the town, I decided to explore some of the sites in Mussoorie, after which I resigned for the night at my hotel.
Woke up to a beautiful morning and decided to get some hot adrak tea at Clock Tower Café.
Oh, the many short stories by Ruskin Bond accompanied me while I snuggled in a cosy corner sofa.
To continue the morning hunger pangs, I headed to the talk of the town, Lovely Omelette Centre.
I have to agree, they make the best Cheese omelettes in the region!
After a short stroll along the Mall Road for an hour or two, I decided to explore Dalai Hill on the other end of the town. It was a short climb from the monastery at Happy Valley.
A bowl of hot wai-wai noodles overlooking this mesmerising view.
It started to rain after a while. With a rain coat and umbrella to keep me company, I descended down the hill marvelling at the views around.
Refreshing Escape to the Queen of Hills!
