FESTIVALS & EVENTS
From green buildings to green weddings and green cars, the world is going green. At the forefront of this effort is the green food brigade that proposes new and environment friendly ways to take care of that basic need – food. Want to see this brigade in action? Head to China between April 7 and April9, 2013 and watch the best of this burgeoning industry in action at the 14th Beijing Green Food and Organic Food Expo. The largest food expo, this one will be a giant in terms of footfall. If you are in the organic food business, then this is the place for you to be - more than 800 exhibitors and over 35,000 visitors from 32 countries will be in attendance. If you are looking at entering the organic food market, a Beijing trip will help. Asia is a rapidly expanding market for organic goods and you will be able to preview the latest offerings and the best technologies in the market. In its 14th year now, the expo traditionally sees huge participation from leading producers and experts in the organic and green food universe. This means a great networking opportunity for you. The Venue China International Exhibition Center on Bei-San Huan East Road in the capital city will host the event. The centre offers over a million square meters of space for exhibitions and events and the expo will be spread over 30,000 square metres at the venue. Pack comfy shoes! The exhibition centre is conveniently located in the 6th district of Chaoyang Beisanhuandong and serviced by an extensive network of buses and cabs. You can also take the airport bus shuttle service or hire a car. The area is home to several good hotels but owing to multiple events taking place, rooms get sold fast. Make hotel bookings before you leave on your Beijing trip and some excellent choices would be: Beijing Kai Sheng Xing Feng International Hotel, Days Hotel Beijing New Exhibition Center or CNC Center Grand Hotel. In the Limelight The expo aims to build new and convenient channels for integration of resources and for coordination between merchants and distribution companies. To that end, the event invites producers of green & organic foods, technology producers and innovators in the space who present a host of organic fruits & vegetables, grains & dairy products. Watch out for the wines made with grapes or rice or fruit utilising traditional distilling technologies. The products in the limelight will also include organic condiments and production materials like seeds and seedlings, pesticides and fertilizer. At the other end are the consumers – green food suppliers, organic food chains, supermarkets and hotels & restaurants.
