Want To Go ?

So you’re all set for your beach vacation, all bookings have been made and the excitement levels are soaring; the only thing left to do is pack. That dreaded task! What simplifies this is a quick checklist to help you pack for a beach holiday. Presenting packing tips for your next beach vacation so you don’t end up over packing or looking for these items at the local stores.

Sunscreen

Make this your best friend for the duration of your holiday. However much fun it may be to soak up the sun, you still need to load up on sun protection. Carry a good sunscreen with SPF 50+ that you can reapply often. Don’t forget to apply lip balm with SPF as well.

Comfortable Attire

Carry loose and comfortable clothing when on a beach vacation. Cotton and linen are the best fabrics. Try to pack clothes that can be worn in multiple combinations to avoid over baggage. Ladies, carry fun accessories that can be teemed up with all your outfits, but don’t overpack. After all, you’d need some room for the shopping you do!

Casual Shoes and Flip Flops

This is the most convenient footwear when on a beach. Not only are they light weight and comfortable to walk in, but are also easy to rinse off.

Swim Wear

Opt for swim wear which is comfortable. Ladies, team it up with a nice sundress or sarong so you can move around freely on the beach, in the hotel or at a restaurant.

Beach Towels

We recommend you carry one to two towels per person- one to dry yourself and the other to lay or sit on. Go for the micro-fibre, light weight towels which are soft, compact and absorb water faster.

Hats

Not only does a sun hat make for a fashionable beach accessory, but also serves as protection from the sun. Prolonged exposure to the sun can be extremely dangerous, and that’s where a hat comes in handy. Look for light colours as they are more effective.

Sunglasses

Invest in a good pair of sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun’s UV rays. When on the beach it is recommended to wear sunglasses that have larger lenses. If you plan to wear these glasses in the water, be sure to buy straps, so that you don’t lose them. We recommend that kids wear sunglasses too, to protect their eyes.

Camera and Phone Accessories

The beach will offer many photo opportunities that you don’t want to miss out on. Carry your camera along with an additional memory card. You can also use your phone’s camera but be sure to keep the battery charged and carry your phone charger.

Beach Bag

When you’re out spending a day on the beach and have to carry the aforementioned items, a beach bag comes in handy. Choose a bag that is washable and spacious. Pick a bright colour or choose from a range of lovely patterns. Don’t forget to pack wet wipes for cleaning your sandy hands, baby powder to clean the sand off your feet and legs, ziploc bags to protect your wallet, camera and other electronic items or to keep your wet swim wear. It’s also a good idea to carry a change of clothes.

Medicine Kit

Carry a first aid kit with the necessary medicines and pills you might need. It is easier to carry these from your home country as medicines in the country you are visiting might be limited to prescription only. Be sure to carry an insect repellent, bandages and a thermometer as well.

Most importantly, have fun!

Don’t forget to share your tips and tricks with other fellow travellers once you’re back from your vacation.

Happy holidays!
