While some of these events will be excellent hangouts for you and your pets, others will surely give you great ideas on bringing them up right. Welcome to Crufts, the undisputed leader of dog shows in the world! The largest, most exhaustive and most exciting dog show in the world, Crufts is a 4-day event held in UK in March every year. From agility and obedience programmes, exclusive breed booths, flyball competitions and Best in Show contests hosted for several breed categories, this event is your go-to place to discover dog breeds like never before. Because of the event’s popularity among animal lovers all over the world, we recommend you purchase your tickets in advance to make the most of your holiday to the UK.

The biggest outdoor annual festival for dogs in North America, Woofstock has everything it takes to celebrate your bond with your dog. A festival in the true sense of the word, it is all about partying with your dog, celebrating love, going out to play some really crazy games and participating in fashion shows for fun and winning. The Ultimutts Stunt Dog Show, Running of the Pugs, Six-legged Race (for you and your pooch!), Canine’s Got Talent and Best Costume Contest are just a few reasons for you to visit Woofstock. If time allows, plan a longish trip to Toronto and volunteer for the event. If you love dogs as much as I do, you can thank me later for this idea!

Emerging as the biggest pet festival in India, Pet Fed is doing the rounds around Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and other big cities. New Delhi’s annual festival is held in December with over 30,000 visitors along with their dogs, cats and other furry friends. From kiosks on how to make a pet-friendly home to grooming and training sessions, from celebrating the bond between kids and pets to flaunting your pooch’s glam quotient, Pet Fed is the place to be for pet parents. Come here for an exclusive play area for the dogs, puppy therapy for people without dogs, photo booths and an array of exciting options to eat and have fun (read live music). As goes without saying, this event is the answer to many a pet lovers’ anguish about the lack of socializing options for pets in India.

Held in San Jose every year, Bark In The Park is America’s biggest dog event and has successfully completed 20 years. Believe it or not, they have a Tail Wagging Contest! Don’t we already have reason enough to plan that American holiday right away? Pet/Owner Look Alike Contest is yet another unique feature of this event. If you don’t have a pet, the Rescue Dog Stars event is made for you! Come here, interact with adorable fur kids who’re full of love for you and your family, waiting to be taken home. Volunteer for the Bark In The Park for a very fulfilling experience.

The fourth annual Melbourne Dog Lover’s Show saw the coming together of more than 28,000 people, over 500 dogs across dozens of breeds and pooch experts from various fields. The breed showcase is the highlight of this event which takes places across various Australian cities like Melbourne and Sydney, to name a few. The Canidae Rescue Dog Zone here is all about dog adoptions where several rescue groups participate. What’s more, the event is home to countless kiosks from where you can buy toys, treats, accessories and more for your dog!
When: 5th – 7th May, 2017 in Melbourne; 6th – 7th August in Sydney
