Rishikesh International Film Festival 2019: March 11th – 17th

Rishikesh – the land of Ashrams, temples and the Ganga is scaling new heights. Once deeply rooted in the traditions, the ‘Yoga Capital of the World’ is setting its own trends now! MakeMyTrip brings a roundup of the 3-year old Rishikesh International Film Festival in 2019.

Started in march 2017, the film festival is the brainchild of American photographer Deja Cross. It is a celebration with a view and a purpose; supported by several government bodies like Government of Uttarakhand, Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, Gramin Mandal Vikas Nigam Ltd., Films Division Mumbai, Directorate of Film Festivals and Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.

 

This film Festival is trying to infuse art in the local communities – Inspiring locals to look at alternative career options while bringing international attention to the available potential in small Indian towns & villages. Also, the opportunity it provides us for cultural exchange with our neighbours is vast.

The Rishikesh International Film festival 2019 is offering 7 days of film screening and photography exhibitions, cultural and art programs, local and traditional music & dance performances from home and neighboring countries, artist and author talks, panels, workshops and art exhibitions and projects for visitors of all ages.
