Scroll ahead for a detailed 7-day itinerary across the must-visits: Madrid, Seville and Granada, and plan a trip today itself!

 

MADRID: 2 DAYS

DAY 1

The Walking Tour:

There are multiple free walking tours in Madrid, led by local agents which let you explore the spectacular attractions of the city. More so, you also get a deeper understanding of the rich history associated with each spot, with the guide narrating interesting facts and insights about each place. Sign up for one!

Lunch at the Mercado de San Miguel:

After the walking tour, hunger pangs are sure to follow! The Mercado de San Miguel, a buzzing market with stalls selling the most delectable Spanish food is the perfect spot for a quick lunch. Try the famous tapas, paella or sip on some fresh Sangria!

Palacio Real:

Truly a site to behold, the Palacio Real is a fine example of Madrid's royal history. While it is the official residence of the Spanish royal family, it is also where commemorations and the ceremony of hosting international leaders are held.

Here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Madrid city & surreal sunsets from the Mirador de la Cornisa viewpoint & the Sabatini Gardens, which are open to public throughout the year.

Sunset at the Temple of Debod

Perched atop a small hill, close to the Palacio Real, the Temple of Debod also serves as a magical viewpoint for admiring spectacular sunsets. Visit this old Egyptian temple at dusk to witness the sun dive down, reflecting the colourful hues on the Cathedral’s outer walls.

 

DAY 2

Museo del Prado:

Kick start your day 2 by heading over to the Museo del Prado—one of the greatest art museums in the world. Spend a few hours here as you walk through the numerous exhibits displaying the finest works by Goya, Velázquez, El Greco and more!

Parque del Retiro:

For a breath of fresh air, continue walking to the El Retiro Park—one of Madrid’s most popular getaways & let your hair down. Built in the 19th century as a greenhouse, it is now an extension of the Museo Reina Sofia and houses some incredible art exhibitions. While here, sign up for boating in Estanque del Retiro—the impressive rectangular artificial lake, swing by the Palacio Cristal, walk through the open gardens spotting finely crafted life-like sculptures, including the Monument of Alfonso XII, the Fallen Angel, the Labours of Hercules & more.

Gran Via:

The Gran Via—Madrid’s main shopping street is a short walk from Retiro Park. Home to some of the most beautiful architectural landmarks of the city, here you can go on a shopping spree, enjoy street performances and dine at the rooftop bars overlooking incredible views of the city or stop by to grab a quick bite at the many cafes that dot the street.

 

SEVILLE: 3 DAYS

DAY 3

Plaza de España:

The incredible Plaza de España, hidden away at the periphery of Maria Luisa Park, is a must-visit when in Seville! The vibrant contrast of red-bricked exterior and the colourful mosaic tiles make for striking instagrammable backdrops. Not just this, you can also explore the Vincente Traver fountain which is located at the centre of the plaza, while here.

Parque de María Luisa:

After exploring the Plaza de España, continue your journey to the enchanting Parque de Maria Luisa. The park's architectural style looks absolutely stunning with the lush plantations of palm, orange trees, pines, flower beds, monuments, pongs & fountains. Once you’ve soaked in the beauty of nature, visit the Archaeological Museum of Seville and the Museum of Arts and Popular Customs, located near Plaza America, at the park's southern end.

Acuario de Sevilla

Discover the secrets of underwater world at the Seville Aquarium. Having one of the deepest oceanariums for sharks, the aquarium is known for housing more than 7000 marine creatures, including bull sharks, face turtles, potbellied horses, clown fish, Nile monitor lizard & more. Here, you may also find deep sea corals, reptiles & amphibians.

 

DAY 4

Barrio Santa Cruz:

Barrio Santa Cruz is Seville’s main tourist hub & a one of the best places to explore the city’s several most-significant places of interest, including the Royal Alcázar of Seville. Visit this historic Jewish quarter and walk the cobbled streets leading you to vibrant houses & attractive squares. Spend some time strolling through this delightful neighbourhood for a refreshing break.

Cathedral of Sevilla & Giralda Bell Tower:

Distinguished as the fourth-largest church in Spain, Cathedral de Sevilla should be next on your itinerary. Take a tour of the cathedral exploring its intricate architecture, artistic heritage & the La Giralda which once served as a mosque’s bell tower. Interestingly, the bell tower is still open to public & houses 24 bells. Climb to the top of the bell tower and grab a breath-taking panoramic view of the city!

Flamenco Show:

Give in to the charm of the iconic Flamenco performances in Seville. Here, Flamenco can be seen in a variety of settings, from the streets to the grand stage. This intense performance combines music, song and dance creating an ethereal environment that leaves you spellbound. Make sure to book your seats well in advance for the evening.

 

DAY 5

Torre del Oro:

Torre del Oro is located near the Guadalquivir River. It was constructed as a military watchtower in the 12th century to control access to Seville via the Guadalquivir River. Make your way here for dramatic views of nature.

Barrio Triana:

Cross the San Telmo bridge from Torre del Oro and travel north to continue exploring the Triana neighbourhood. Take in the lively vibe, as you make your way through the narrow cobbled streets.  Triana is well-known for its spectacular tapas scene! So, explore the bars, hopping from one to the next while sampling the best tapas (with a glass of your favourite drink!) that the neighbourhood has to offer.

Palacio de las Dueñas and Museo Palacio de la Condesa de Lebrija:

If you're a history aficionado, visit the Palacio de las Dueas and Palace of the Countess of Lebrija next. Both have wonderful courtyards and exquisitely embellished walls that make for the perfect backdrop for your pictures!

 

GRANADA: 2 DAYS

Day 6

Cathedral:
One of the historic sites that truly describe the Spanish Renaissance is the Catedral de Granada. It was built by architect Diego de Siloé, who also collaborated on the Royal Monastery of Saint Jerome of Granada. Book your tickets online to avoid long queues.

Royal Chapel of Granada:

The Royal Chapel of Granada, also known as Capilla Real de Granada, is a Gothic-style funerary memorial devoted to Saint John the Baptist and Evangelist. The Catholic Monarchs asked the chapel be constructed briefly after determining Granada as their final resting place. Here, you will find a range of paintings, books, vestments and more, all of which were artefacts donated by Spanish monarchs.

Alcaicería:
Just a few metres from the Cathedral sits one of the city's most distinguishable neighbourhoods: the Alcaicera. This former Arab silk market (souk) has been transformed into a maze of narrow streets packed with an array of shops. Shop for exquisite Arab handicrafts here!

Albaicín:
Pass through the Carrera del Darro—one of the city's most beautiful and pleasant localities to reach the historic neighbourhood of Albaicín. Walk on the narrow Moorish streets lined with traditional houses to reach the Carrera Del Darro—the oldest street near River Darro that provides picturesque views of the Alhambra from below. While here, stop by to gorge on delectable food & a selection of drinks.

Sacromonte:
Home to the Gypsy Community of Granada, Sacromonte is a stunning cave-studded neighbourhood. Visit the Museo Cuevas del Sacromonte—a museum located at the hilltop associated with the legacy & culture of gypsies, the first inhabitants of Sacromonte. Also, explore the Abadia del Sacromonte—an iconic monument located close by, which is symbolic of the town’s rich history and diverse religious heritage.

 

DAY 7

Alhambra and Generalife:

Overlooking the beautiful city of Granada, Alhambra boasts of all-inclusive architectonics. From stucco works & intricate plaster used in the Moorish architecture to stalactite patterns of the neo-Classical construction, you’ll find it all here. Marvel over the beautiful structure before you head over to the picturesque complex of Generalife Palace—a leisure palace for the rulers of Granada. While here, admire amazing landscapes, witness breath-taking views of the Granada city, or simply stroll in the gardens surrounded by orchards & fruit gardens.

Shopping & Exploring the Neighbourhood:
