SURPRISE ME!
The best thing about travel is that you get to binge on different cuisines from across the globe. But I’m sure you’ll agree that it takes a hell lot of courage to challenge your food limits, leave your judgments behind, sample food that you thought you’d never eat, and survive statements like, “Eww, how can you eat that!”
Well, when I bumped into the globe-trotting Indian Southpaw and captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Shikhar Dhawan, here’s the first question I asked him:
What’s the one food item you never thought you’d eat?
“I was in a restaurant in Dubai once and I ordered a dish called 'Escargot' from the menu, without realizing what it actually was. Turned out it was a preparation of snails that completely freaked me out. Nevertheless, I did try it for the heck of trying.”
Little more ambitious and curious, I shot him another question.
What’s that one thing we will ALWAYS find in your travel bag?
"A picture of my lovely wife. I look at her and say good night every single night." Don’t judge me, but I’m really tempted to say ‘Aww…that’s so sweet.’ So have you tried something strange too? Hit reply and tell us the one thing you thought you’d never eat but did, and if we find your answer interesting, you might get lucky and get featured in this section.
While Shikhar Dhawan dreams of trying different cuisines when travelling the world, what does your dil dream about?

Well said, Subrata. I totally agree with what you think. We should always at least try the local cuisine of any new place we visit and keep an attitude of appreciation :) Thanks for writing in and stay tuned to this section for more.

I really liked the answer of Shikhar that he ordered the unknown item but at least tried the bizarre food. Cuisine is an integral part of tourism. Everyone should love & taste different foods to understand the culture of people & its our responsibility to educate our customers.
