Staying on land is too mainstream! Therefore, Fingal – a yacht turned into a luxurious floating hotel in Edinburgh, has opened its doors for guests. This floatel offers a drool-worthy view of the majestic Edinburgh waterfront, and an array of dining and wining experiences – right within its glamorous premises. Are you ready to book a stay?
For a comfortable and luxurious cruise-like experience without having to leave the port, you have to book your stay at Edinburgh’s Fingal. Lit with vibrant interiors, chic décor and bespoke experiences, Fingal was initially commissioned to maintain Scotland’s lighthouses in 1963. After years of renovation and £5 million worth of investment, it has been turned into a stellar ship-cum-hotel destination offering memorable stays. All of its 23 rooms display flawless finesse, and provide every comfort of a plush hotel, while preserving the heritage of the ship. This 237-foot ship is permanently berthed at the bustling Leith Port, overlooking Edinburgh’s exquisite waterfront, near the Royal Yacht Britannia.
Each of Fingal’s 23 cabins are named after the lighthouses it earlier operated for. You can choose between the luxury cabins offering private decks, classic cabins, duplex cabin, or simply go for the exclusive Skerryvore Suite, which has a separate living room and a private decking area for watching scintillating sunsets. The starting price for a room is £300 ($383) for a night, which includes a scrumptious Scottish breakfast.
The interiors exude a fine blend of polished wood works, Scottish leathers, nautical touches, and a colour palette inspired by Edinburgh’s landscape.
There’s an elegant ballroom with a sweeping staircase, that can entertain up to 60 guests. This hall can be used for hosting weddings, intimate functions, corporate gatherings, etc.

Are you impressed by Fingal’s opulence? Plan your next trip to Edinburgh and book your stay at this luxurious hotel!
A wanderer and foodie woven into one. Constantly looking out for miraculous events, those haunting encounters, and some luck of universe to be marvelled at this thing called life. While music keeps me going, I hate to stay at one place for very long. Not a Netflix junkie, but Gosh, what I wouldn’t do to watch a good old 90’s flick on big screen.
