1. Visit the Heritage Sites

It is no secret that Bali is the ‘Island of Gods’. There are probably many more temples in Ubud than the houses and we could not help but be fascinated every time we spotted one of these precious samples of architecture dating back to 100s of years. Each one of these temples is old enough to tell its own tales!

2. Trek to Mount Batur

Imagine hiking to an active volcano at 3 AM with path illuminated only by flashlights. Sounds insane right? Believe us when we say that you will get the most magical start to your day as sunrises in Bali do not get better than this!

3. Chase Waterfalls

Apart from Goa Rang Reng, many waterfalls are there in Ubud, and each one has its own charm. Although these waterfalls are hidden treasures, once you take a dip into the fresh, clean water, it will be worth the effort!

4. Eat Like a Local

Spoiler alert! There is more out there than just ‘Nasi Goreng’ (fried rice) and ‘Mie Goreng’ (fried noodles). Yes, you can eat your way through a heaping plate of traditional Balinese food in one of the many street-food joints Ubud has to offer. When eating like a local, the trouble is not in deciding where to begin but where to stop!

5. Shop Cheap Stuff at a Local Market

Visit the Ubud Art Market and you will get plenty of antiques from wall hangings, handicrafts, sarongs, clothes and wooden ornaments to interesting souvenirs like colourful wood carved penis-shaped bottle-openers! Ladies, do not forget to hunt for the trendy cane handbags!
