Let's face it. Each time you watch The Hangover or Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, you picture yourself with your ‘wolf pack’ on these trips. Whiling away your time, the usual friendly banter, and the endless hours doing god knows what and still having a good time (forever young begins to play in the background). Ah, those good ol’ days. Unlike the movies, you really don’t need one of your friends to take the ultimate plunge (read: marriage) to take that final trip- just take a vacation already! Taking inspiration from the sequel to the Hangover, I was thinking how about a Thailand trip with friends?

Koh Samui

Get the party started in Koh Samui

This is the land of full moon parties! These are parties that happen before and after every full moon and they’re primarily why Koh Samui has one of the most vibrant nightlife in Thailand. Koh Phangan’s Full Moon parties are some of the longest running beachside dance festivals in the world; loud, exploding with energy and absolute madness with your buds (check out the party dates online and book accordingly!) Grab some shut-eye after a night of partying and head to the beach! Thailand tourism does not offer packages for these parties so book your tickets for ferry once you are in Thailand. The four best beaches here are, Mae Nam, Bohput, Choeng Mon and Chaweng. While Chaweng is the most commercialised of the lot, all are equally stunning. You could also arrange for a day trip to Koh Tao and indulge in some snorkeling and scuba diving! It definitely tops the chart of things to see in Bangkok when you are travelling with friends.

Phuket

The party capital of Thailand, Phuket will keep you partying till the wee hours

Patong is undoubtedly the centre of nightlife in Phuket. Reach at 9 o’clock and you won’t be back in your suite till the wee hours. If it isn’t the nightclubs (Famous, Seduction, The Factory to name a few), you could go for the Cabaret Shows (make a note of Simon Cabaret on Srirat Road) or get a dose of some Thai boxing perhaps! Muay Thai is exhilarating and riveting to say the least, and you could visit either one of the two venues – Soi Sai Namyen and Bangla Boxing Stadium behind Jungceylon and catch some intense fights! Highly recommended by Thailand tourism, this place is sure to boost that adrenaline rush in your body.

Pattaya

Try go karting at Pattaya's Kart Speedway

Still haven’t had enough? Well, Pattaya and Phuket are similar when it comes to vibrant nights. Plenty of nightclubs discos and shows et al. Discover Pattaya during the day with its massive array of adventure sports. Make a note of Flight of the Gibbon; it’s a zip line course extending 3 kilometres through the forest canopy of Khao Kheeo Open Safari in Chonburi, 50 minutes from Pattaya. There’s also the option of Bungee jumping and go-karting at Pattaya Kart Speedway. Thrilling indeed. Take some time out for these amazing things to do in Thailand.

Phi Phi Islands

Allow the beauty of the Phi Phi Islands to take your breath away

To truly experience love at first sight, you must arrive at Phi Phi. As the boat approaches the isles, you see a fortress rise from the sea, flanked by forests and cliffs; you see the beach by the clear blue waters… it’s truly magical. If you still need another reason to visit…it would be the atmosphere. Absolutely laidback, no sense of rush, no schedule. Lay on the beach, ‘Instagram’ some photos and literally soak in the atmosphere. Friends, fun and Phi Phi and you’ll be fine. Apart from the beach experience, Phi Phi offers a whole lot underwater. Diving from points such as Ko Bida Nok and Ko Bida Nai allows you to discover the magical marine world in the coral reefs. If you all are in the mood for some shark spotting, you could always snorkel your way from the shark point, but if you’re planning to play it safe, then charter sailing boats and cruise along the clear waters.

Friends? Check. A bunch of awesome things to do in a really cool place? Check. I think it’s time you booked the next flight to Thailand.
