1. Dudhsagar Falls

2. Trimbakeshwar

At a distance of about 40 km from Nashik, Trimbak is home to one of the most revered pilgrimage sites of Hindu religion. Trimbakeshwar Temple holds high esteem in various religious texts for being one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Flocked by devotees from pan India, this sacred city is blessed by natural beauty of the neighbouring Bramhagiri Mountain from which the river Godavari flows. The three lingams within the temple signify the holy trinity of the gods Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. To atone for their sins, devotees may take a holy bath at Papaharini Theertam which is located near the temple.

3. Ramshej Fort

How about spending a day at the fortress that once stood witness to the valour of Maratha Kingdom? Located on a mountain top and popular for the challenging hike and picturesque views, this fort is reminiscent of the glorious past and offers something for everyone. According to popular folklore, the fort’s name has been inspired by Lord Rama who took shelter here with his family during his exile. Oh, and don’t forget to visit the cave temple devoted to the Lord himself!

4. Saptashrungi Devi Temple

Literally translating into seven mountains, Saptashrungi in Vani is considered as ‘ardha’ or half Shaktipeeth which is revered as a centre of divine power. Visit this holy abode, which is just 30 km away from Nashik and worship the grand ten-armed idol of the goddess after a massive 500-step climb. Don’t forget to get some pictures clicked with the surreal vistas of Sahyadri Range in the backdrop.

5. Anjaneri Hills/Panchavati

A point of great historical significance, the fort of Anjaneri, is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman and adopts its name after his mother Anjani. While you trek your way up the hills, spot the magnanimous Anjani Mata Temple amidst all the lush green hills don’t forget to stop by the reverse 20 ft. waterfall for a magical view.
