Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur are the world’s tallest, and a must-see. But what makes the visit to Petronas more fun is the sky bridge right in the middle of the twin towers, offering breathtaking views of the city below. It isn’t every day that you get to feel on top of the world, so make sure you buy your tickets to the sky bridge in advance. Guess whoever said “It’s about the journey, not the destination” wasn't kidding after all.

Malaysia is known for its nature trails and UNESCO heritage sites. But let’s get real, those are not as much fun as their evil twin—the modern era shopping trails! Yes that’s right, a full day of fun at the nine signature malls stretching from Bukit Bintang to KLCC are the perfect excuse to get adventurous with your shopping plans in Malaysia.
Head to Jalan Alor, Malaysia’s most famous food street, to enjoy an authentic Malaysian, Thai and Chinese street food experience. The hawkers set up shop around 5 p.m. till late night every evening, and most restaurants serve alcohol. Enjoy a plate of assorted seafood, BBQ chicken wings and char kuey teow amidst local patrons and other food freaks. Make the most of it by strolling along the street looking at the signs and the dishes available—there is no end to the goodies you can try here.

Formed by living corals, Sipadan Island is the best place to realise your diving dreams. Celebrity diver and oceanographer, Jacques Cousteau declared Sipadan to be an “untouched piece of art” and since then, a diving vacation here is on everyone’s before-you-die list, and for good reason too. The amount of diverse marine life it attracts from the blackness of the open sea is just mind blowing. Surrounded by crystal clear waters, Sipadan is a tiny treasure trove of the most diverse species of aquatic flora and fauna in the world. There are 12 diving sites in Sipadan, and the most popular ones are Turtle Cavern, Barracuda Point, South Point and Hanging Gardens. You need a permit to visit the island, so make sure you apply well in advance. Kids can enjoy dive boat safaris and snorkelling.
For those of you who thought Malaysia was just about the beaches, you’re in for a surprise— Cameron Highlands is the largest hill station in Malaysia, and it will somehow remind you of Assam and Munnar. However, it couldn’t be more different. For one, the tea here has a unique taste, and the Highland air has a different bent. Book a hotel with a balcony view of tea plantations and while your day away sipping on a hot Cameronian cuppa and nibbling on freshly baked scones. There’s no better way to end your Malaysian vacation.

your article brings back so many memories from my visit to Sipadan! I always take dive site hype with a grain of salt and try not to get overly excited, but Barracuda Point () completely blew my mind and totally lived up to the expectations. I can't wait to go back!
