HOTEL IDEAS
New York tycoon and newly elected US President Donald J Trump takes his luxury seriously. Case in point–The much talked about Trump Hotels. Despite a fall of 59% in overall hotel bookings as compared to the last year, the opulent hegemony of brand Trump refuses to die down. Here are 6 facts that’ll instantly attract you to the world of Trump hotels.
1. Jean-Georges restaurant in Trump International Hotel and Tower in New York is considered one of the best restaurants of the world. The chef at Jean-Georges, Jean-Georges Vongerichten is a holder of three Michelin stars. Trump sure does know how to choose his chefs!
2. The Trump International Hotel in Vegas, although located right off the Strip, does not have a casino. The Trumps say this was done not because of want of a gaming license, but because they wanted to keep the uber luxury experience at this premium property intact and unhurt by casino goers.
3.Trump’s luxury hotel in Oahu, Hawaii, has an infinity pool on the 64th floor for you to indulge in, in case you don’t want to walk down to the Waikiki Beach.
4.Trump International in Vegas is the tallest building in Las Vegas City at a height of around 200 metres. And with exterior windows made of 24-carat gilded gold, you can see Trump’s opulent pad from anywhere in the city.
5.Trump hotels are not always about in-your-face luxury. Trump winery in Charlottesville, Virginia was a Georgian-style hilltop mansion that was turned into an upscale B&B. The tasting rooms at the winery here come with picnic packages offered with some very exotic Bordeaux blend wines.
6.Trump Hotels’ newest kid on the block is in Washington DC and was completed fairly recently. The Old Post Office in Washington’s Federal Triangle built in 1899 was converted into this mansion of luxury, replete with period furnishings and a glass roof that allows lighting by natural sunlight. Trump actually beat bids from Hyatt and Hilton to win the tender of this upscale property.
