FESTIVALS & EVENTS
Every year, you spend a lot of time thinking of new ideas to pamper your better half, don't you? How about doing something different this Valentine's Day? Perhaps it's time to shower love and attention on your furry friend, who might be sitting by your bedside and wagging his tail as you read this blog. So go ahead, plan an outing with your dog and I promise you will love the change!
Here are some ideas on how to celebrate Valentine's Day with your dog:
No matter what the occasion, there's nothing like a holiday if you wish to celebrate. Head to one of your favourite destinations with your dog and get set for a fun-filled experience. Dining at a pet-friendly restaurant and swimming (if there’s a lake nearby) are some. What’s more, pet-friendly hotels can be found everywhere in the world, including cities like Paris, New York, Sydney, Lonavala and Goa. Some houseboats in Kerala also allow pets on board. Dunlop dog beds, edible greeting cards on check-in, special doggy treats in the room and pet-friendly activities – these are just a few things you will come across at these hotels.
Bring Fido to one of the pet events that are held in different parts of the world if you want to spoil him to the core. It’s also a good place to learn how pets make a difference to the lives of many people. Don’t forget to shop for your pet from one of the kiosks put up here. There are dog shows around this time in other Indian cities like Vadodara, Patiala and Bengaluru. Attending a pet event could be a bonus for you too; who knows you might just find your Valentine in another pet parent!
Don’t be surprised for this is a popular activity with a lot of pets and their parents. Head to a beautiful hill station and go trekking with your dog for a unique experience. If you need some inspiration, read about Rupee who went for a 10-day trek up Mount Everest. If your dog is a small breed, you can also indulge in cycling in the hills, with him seated comfortably in the front basket! Don’t forget to check the dog regulations for the place you will be backpacking to.
Discover the fashionista in your pet as you take him to a dog spa or salon this Valentine’s Day. Get your pooch a luxury bath, get the nails done, try out different outfits and hairstyles and who knows, s/he could be the next talk of the town! Valentine’s Day is all about pampering your beloved and who could do it better than a spa?
If you are a bit too tied up for any (or all) of the above, you can still spend some quality time with your dog at a nearby park. Head to the park for a nice walk, indulge in a game of Frisbee or simply sit down on the green grass and tell him how much you love him. After all, the gift of love is the greatest!
Isn’t that look enough for you to plan an outing with him? So go ahead and make the season special for your pooch. If you have more ideas on celebrating Valentine’s Day with your pet, do share them in the Comments section below. :)
