#BloggerContest: Where Luxury Is an Understatement—Vivanta by Taj, Fort Aguada

We live in the bustling capital city of India- perennial politics, endless traffic jams spent listening to the same FM channels and the suffocating pollution! Now, who would be in a more desperate need of a vacation than us? We, the Mister and the Missus, caught up in our corporate jobs, running in and around our 9 to 5 jobs, spending more time with our colleagues than ourselves, decided to head to Goa for the weekend.

Vivanta by Taj, Fort Aguada was our choice of hotel after an extensive survey and cost-benefit analysis. We wanted something special, since it was the Mister's birthday, and what says ‘special’ more than a Taj getaway! When we landed in Goa on a September morning, we were welcomed by the Hotel shuttle at the airport which whisked us to our abode for the weekend. The moment you step into the reception overlooking the sea, you know you're in for something special.

About the property. How would you feel if you had two exotic Taj hotels right next to each other and you were entitled to use the facilities of both?! Amazing, right? We had exclusive hotel shuttles driving us around the two properties (Vivanta by Taj and Taj Holiday Village) as if it were one massive property. That, my friends, is Vivanta by Taj, Fort Aguada. It is upfront classy and you're in for a luxurious treat.

Our abode for the weekend, a premier temptation villa with a private lawn, was just the kind of privacy we were looking for. The rooms have been skilfully designed to give a proper homely feeling, only laden with lots of luxury and greenery.

After a soul cleansing shower, we headed to explore the beach right in front of the hotel. The ruins here offer an insight into the grandeur of times gone by. We strolled along the beach in search of a nice little place where we could grab a snack, but little did we know what we had been looking for was right in front of us all along.

We settled in Caravella, which was a gorgeous shack-like restaurant serving excellent food. We enjoyed a delicious pizza after which the restaurant surprised us with a delicious dessert, since they figured out it was the Mister’s birthday. Overwhelmed and stuffed, we headed back to our room, where another cake was waiting for us, complete with candles – a very sweet gesture by the hotel.

In the morning, the  shuttle was at our villa to take us to the breakfast restaurant. What made the scrumptious variety of breakfast buffet even better was the view of mellow sunshine reflecting on the adjacent pool and the ocean. Serene and inspirational. From impeccable hospitality to gorgeous rooms and courteous smiles all day long, you have no choice, but to fall in love with the place.

Saying goodbye to the hotel was really hard. We experienced our new selves here – walking hand-in-hand through the villas to the sunset point, enjoying a delectable breakfast like there's no tomorrow and finishing a birthday cake over a morning coffee. On our flight back to Delhi, we both had smiles on our face, and memories etched in our hearts. You don’t just stay in Vivanta by Taj, Fort Aguada, you experience it!
