ROAD TRIPS
While day 1 started on a high note, day 2 only got better. Here's how:
Got out of bed at 5 am today to make it to the 6 am Gypsy Safari at the Ranthambore National Park. Researched all night about the celebrity tigers namely Machli (yes, a tigress named Fish) and T-24 (the only one here to have attacked humans). Excitement got the better of me and I woke up at 3:30 am. Three of our companions in the jungle had flown in all the way from England and one from Latvia just to catch the tiger in action.

My fellow companions were on their 3rd safari and told me it wasn't easy to spot a tiger. Lady luck has to really smile at you. We got Zone 5, a very viable area to find the beast in his natural habitat. Scoured the dry, arid yet dense jungle for almost 1.5 hours and finally saw T-6 (that’s what this male tiger was called) in deep slumber up a hill, behind the trees.
Ranthambore offers unique handicrafts to take home. I lost my heart to this really adorable toy tiger that my husband bought me. We are calling him T-24. You too can pick it up from Dastkari Ranthambore.
We have fallen in love with the in-house Indian Spice restaurant at our hotel – Ranthambhore National Regency. You place your order and the cook reaches out to the homegrown kitchen garden to pick out fresh ingredients. No wonder the food here is so healthy and tastes so good.
Missed out how I started my road trip? This is what I did.

That's a wonderful coincidence Shizan that you too have been at the same hotel. Did you try the buttermilk there?

Thanks, Asif. It was an absolute pleasure to be there. Hope to see you soon. :)

Yes, Shubhda it was! I only wish the tiger was much closer. That said the experience of being in the jungle is like no other. We even got a flat tire. It was a bit eerie to step out of the gypsy as the driver fixed it. ;)
