We stand committed to playing our part in ensuring that the country wins over the Covid-19 pandemic by extending support across the length and breadth of India, including rural remote locations. During the first wave, on an entirely pro-bono basis, we worked closely with the Govt. of India to develop the Aarogya Setu app. Our support to communities was focused on the migrant and livelihood crisis. Some of our initiatives included support with meals and ration kits to daily wage earners, livelihood generation opportunities for women through making masks, cash transfers to bus drivers, and sanitization kits to cab drivers. During the country’s battle with the second wave, we have been contributing actively to support healthcare needs of our fellow citizens and in ramping up medical infrastructure. This includes deployment of over 300 oxygen concentrators through hospitals, armed forces, and grassroot NGOs; as well as funding oxygen plants. We also partnered with a number of private and charitable hospitals, such as Sir Ganga Ram City Hospital, Batra Hospital, Shanti Mukund, etc. to support medical infrastructure & healthcare.

  Partnership with ACT Grants

Our partnership with ACT Grants includes collaboration on various fronts, including deployment of 50 oxygen concentrators, support to set up oxygen plants pan-India, and providing cab and accommodation services as part of the Ek Saath initiative (to cater to needs of covid positive patients).

  Partnership with Gurugram Administration

We are working closely with Gurugram Administration and have deployed IT equipment as well as manpower to support them in contact tracing of covid positive cases.

  CoviRide

We have launched a community participation platform to assist in transport related problems such as emergency commute, ambulance services for COVID-19 patients, ride to vaccination centres, oxygen centres, hospitals among others.  

  Conceptualizing & Creating the Aarogya Setu App

We have been involved in the making of this path-breaking App, right from the concept stage to its development. We have been working closely with the Government of India to scale up this contact tracing App and to make it the fastest growing app ever, globally. It is proving to be a very effective defense tool for all citizens, in our war against COVID-19. This is an entirely pro bono effort and we are grateful to get the opportunity to be of service to the nation during this crisis.

  Setting up the Covid-19 Hospital in Manesar

We have played a significant role in setting up the first private COVID-19 hospital in Manesar, Haryana, to serve the citizens of Gurugram. This is one of the many steps we have taken to support the Gurugram administration in their battle against COVID-19, entirely on a pro bono basis (including our efforts on medical front, and food supply for migrant workers). Medeor Hospital in Manesar has been converted into a dedicated COVID-19 facility, open to patients from all walks of life. The hospital is a non-profit entity, with funds being raised to help economically weaker sections access treatment easily. Any surplus that is received from patients who pay for their treatment is reinvested to serve economically weaker sections as well. MakeMyTrip Foundation is also contributing towards funding accommodation for the hospital staff.

  Frontline Cadre of Travel & Tourism Industry

We have extended support to fund the testing cost for the front-line cadre of the travel and tourism industry, which includes commercial vehicle drivers, tourist guides and non-managerial hotel staff, in case testing needs to be carried out at government approved private laboratories. We also facilitated cash transfers to a section of bus drivers in the value chain of redBus, through a combination of crowdsourced funds, employee contribution as well as MakeMyTrip Foundation funds. We are launching a cab sanitization drive– ‘Cabs with MySafety’. We have partnered with GoMechanic for promoting good sanitation practices among cab drivers.

  Supporting the Daily-wage Earners & Migrant Labourers

To cater to the migrant crisis during the first wave of covid, we partnered with various grassroot NGOs to provide meals and ration to the needy. With Gurgaon Nagrik Ekta Manch (GNEM) as our implementation partner, we served over 1.5 lacs of cooked meals. We also partnered with Goonj and distributed 300+ dry ration kits.

  Contributing Actively Towards the PM Cares Fund

We are contrinuously encouraging voluntary contribution from our employees, and have also considerably contributed to the PM PM CARES Fund for COVID-19 relief.
