On the occasion of World Environment Day celebrated on 5th of June, 2018, we, at MakeMyTrip, took a pledge to make our office free of single-use plastic. Our office is devoid of any single-use plastic glasses, straws and cutlery. In place of the same, we have stocked up on steel and wooden cutlery, and paper cups. We have also provided all our employees with reusable bottles and mugs to encourage them to use these for tea, coffee and water consumption. We believe that all reforms should begin at home but we must try to spread them far and wide. Hence we have been campaigning to create awareness against the use of single-use plastic. Giving-up is step 1 in our battle for eradicating single-use plastic. Step 2 involves dedicated efforts to recycle plastic. For the same, we have purchased 4 plastic crushing machines—three of which have been placed in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The fourth machine has been placed in Cyber Hub, Gurgaon.
