Guwahati Airport History:
Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport also called Guwahati International Airport and formerly as Borjhar Airport, is the main international airport of the North-Eastern States of India. It is located in Guwahati in the state of Assam. The airport was named after the most renowned freedom fighter and the first chief Minister of the state of Assam after independence, Gopinath Bordoloi. It is controlled and managed by the Airport Authority of India and serve as the most prominent Indian Air Force base. It is also the main centre for flights to North-East India, known as the Nine Perfect Jewels or Seven Sisters.
