Indore Airport History:

Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport is a public airport, located 8 km away from the heart of the city of Indore in Madhya Pradesh. After discussing with Mr. Nevill Vintcent of Messrs Tata and Sons of the Aviation Department, The Holkar State Administration had chosen the Bijasan site for the construction of the airport in the year 1935. In the year 1948, flights from Indore to Gwalior, Delhi and Mumbai started. In the year 1950, under the Central Financial Integration scheme, this airport was handed over to the Government of India. In March 1966, new runway that was 5600 feet in length was built at an investment of Rs. 15 lakhs to house larger aircrafts. Night landing services have also been incorporated.

Indore Airport Terminals:

Terminal 1: Domestic - The domestic terminal of the airport is highly developed. Each and every latest facility including modern escalators and a high-tech baggage handling system, two lifts and two escalators and various other modern facilities are there. Numerous flights on regular basis run from here, connecting it to all the major cities and towns of the country.

Terminal 2: Cargo - The cargo terminal of the airport is also highly maintained. Huge warehouses and better facilities with strict security ensure the safety of the products as well as passengers.
