Gwalior Airport History:
Gwalior Airport is a civil enclave airport located at the Maharajpur Air Force Station which is at a distance of 10 Kilometers to the north-east of Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India. It is also known as the Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia Air Terminal and comes under the four major airports of the state of Madhya Pradesh. The airport is spread over an area of 29.5 Acres and hence can accommodate 200 passengers per hour. The Gwalior Air Base has the inimitable feature of being the only operational base in Indian Air Force having two operational corresponding runways. The second runway was conceptualized in the year 2006 and the construction started on February 2009. This new runway came into operation in October 2010.

Terminal 1: Domestic - The Gwalior Airport has a single domestic terminal which is spread over an area of 1600 sq m. It can accommodate large numbers of passengers and is well maintained by the Gwalior Airport Authority. Number of flights runs from here every day connecting the city with all the major cities of the country.
