Sonari Airport or Jamshedpur Airport is a public airport that is spread over an area of 25 acre in the Sonari area of Jamshedpur. The airport is primarily designed to land in the chartered planes of the TATA Group. Following the conversion of the airport from Category 3C to 2C, few airlines that were started up in 2007, withdrew their operations from the airport. Till November 2009, Airline service provider like Kingfisher and MDLR were providing their flights services. Deccan Charters provides regular flight services to Kolkata right from 16 August 2010.Flight training school and simulator center are available for commercial pilots as well .
