Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport is in use for domestic, international and cargo flights from Nagpur to various domestic and international cities. The name of the airport was given on the name of Chief Architect of Indian constitution, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. This airport is fully functional to run domestic and international flights. MIHAN project is a recent project which completes the multi-load cargo facility in Nagpur airport. Various major airlines take off flights to all the major cities of India that include flights of Air India, Kingfisher airlines, IndiGo and Jet airways. Initially it was built to serve as the IAF carrier base.
