Warangal Airport is an old airport which was built during the reign of a Nizam who ruled over this part of the country post independence. This airport was established in the year 1930 which was then built for the purpose of helping the industries in trading and business. Azam Zahi mills exported and imported the paper from here to several parts of the country. This airport was often visited by many VIP’s in past. This airport also served as an airbase during the Indo-China war. Now, it is a domestic airport which is used for travelling purposes by general public.
