Located 51 kilometers ahead of Manali, it is a famous skiing destination in India. The pass remains closed for visitors during winters but it is open from June till October (tentatively). Car services are available till the Bus Stop. From the bus stop, prepaid buses are available till the Rohtang Pass. Also, it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.

Manikaran

The pilgrimage town of Manikaran near Kasol, about 35km from Kullu, is famous for its hot springs.

In the middle of imposing snow-capped hills and a fierce river Beas, Manikaran is a famous pilgrimage center, majorly known for Gurudwara Shri Manikaran Sahib, hot water springs, trekking trails and adventure sports. Amidst lush green mountains, the town is only 2.5 hours drive away from Manali and is easily accessible through roads. Tourists from across the country come to take bath in the healing sulfur hot water springs and feel spiritually refreshed at the Gurudwara and numerous temples nearby. Vashisht

The ancient Vashisht temple near Manali has a Kund with hot water springs, believed to have medicinal value.

Located in a small village called Vashisht, the Vashisht Kund is situated around 6 kms away from Manali. The temple is named after sage Vashisht, one of the seven main sages of the Hindu religion. According to legends, sage Vashisht meditated here and vowed to start a new life after learning that his children were murdered by Vishwamitra. Legend has it that the Shiva Linga within this temple shatters to pieces every time the lightning strikes, only to be restored by the Temple priest using butter and sattu. Since the temple bears the brunt of every thunderstorm, it is considered to be the defender of the valley. Pilgrims climb 1000 steps to reach the temple. Prashar Lake

A crown jewel of Himachal, Prashar Lake, also called Parashar Lake, lies approximately 74 km from Kullu at an altitude of 8960 feet above sea level. The lake has a perimeter stretching up to 300 meters and has a floating island of vegetation in the middle. According to legends, the lake was created by the great Rishi Parashar who meditated here. Great Himalayan National Park

This National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the rare Snow Leopard along with other animal and bird species.

Located around 8.6 km from Kullu, the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP) is bestowed with diverse landscapes, changing from monsoon forests, alpine meadows to snow-clad mountain ranges. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014 in recognition of its outstanding biodiversity conservation. Home to the rare Snow Leopard along with 31 species of mammals, 1000 species of pants, 209 species of birds and various reptiles, amphibians, and insects, GHNP, covering an area of 90,540 hectares, is also one of the largest wildlife reserves in Himachal Pradesh.
