Macau is situated on the south eastern coast of China. It is Asia's famous gambling hub. Here you can bask in traditional Chinese culture along with the striking Portuguese buildings. Its name is derived from the word Magao (A-Ma Temple). This was a shrine devoted to Mazu, who is a sea goddess which people of Macau worship.

Macau is small in size as compared to other metropolitan cities of China such as Beijing or Shanghai. Many people who visit Macau are of opinion that it is a place suited fit both for tourism as well as for living. Neat and clean environment, open sunshine, fresh air and all types of mouth-watering food contribute to its many attractions.

A lot of sightseeing places that are part of a traveler's itinerary are present all over the place. Largo do Senado, the superb main square with neighboring unpretentious, stylish Portuguese and baroque style buildings is the most sought after area of this place.
