Damchen Resort

We stayed in Damchen Resort for a night in Punakha. Here is my short review of the stay Rooms We opted for a standard room which is a little smaller than the usual rooms we find in other Damchen Resorts. However, this should be enough for 2 adults. The room is clean with all the basic amenities in place. View The rooms which are deluxe has a River view. If you specifically want a view of the River, plus book the deluxe rooms. PS: if you step out of the Damchen Resort, the River is visible though. Food We had dinner and breakfast here. Dinner is very decent in this Damchen Resort as we had a terrible experience in different Damchen Resorts in Bhutan. We were served english breakfast along with a loo paratha which is good. Conclusion we recommend Damchen Resort to people who want to stay for a night in Punakha.
The rooms are decent for the price given.

We stayed in Damchen Resort for one night. Overall it was a nice and comfortable stay. Location is good, just beside Punakha river and very close to taxi stand and market. Everything is just at walk-able distance. It is 5 km before Punakha Dzong. View from the resort is also awesome, you can sit just at the bank of river and enjoy the view of mountains. They upgraded our room to river view room. Hotel staff is very polite and helpful. They would guide you in making your travel plans nearby Punakha. Room was also good. It was a twin bed room but beds could be combined, which they did. Food options are very limited in Punakha and Damchen Resort is one of the few places where you get good Indian food. Overall nice and comfortable stay.

It is a cozy Resort situated next to the riverside and offers a pleasant retreat from City life. Most facilities are available but don't expect them to whip up anything you would like to eat at any time. Most of the time their kitchen remains closed. The rooms are small yet comfortable and the bathrooms are very clean. The location is pretty good as it is in the middle of Punakha and the tourist attractions are not very far away.

The Damchen Resort is bustling with travelers which proves their popularity. The rooms are really big and have the awesome view of the river. The Damchen Resort was old, so the floors were slightly creaky, but it was well maintained otherwise. The food could definitely be better breakfast was good with limited options, but dinner could be a lot better. All my points for the location and great service!

Location- on the bank of the River. Spectacular view from the room. Room was big, spacious and a changing room attached Food quality also was good. Various choices to select. Service was good. Courtious and well mannered staff. Next time when I come I will certainly stay in this Damchen Resort for longer period.

The Resort was the one with a beautiful view of the Valley and River. The Damchen Resort staff were courteous and professional. The breakfast served was buffet and had great options. From bread butter toast, omelet to multiple cereals, milk, oats, porridge, different juices as well as sausages. A must stay.

The Damchen Resort has a great location, as it is right next to the river, and you can sit outside to enjoy your evenings. The general service was good. The room sizes are a bit small, so be sure to get either one with the balcony, or those which face the river.
The room size was a bit too small.

The location of the Damchen Resort is brilliant, along the River. But the maintenance is very poor. It badly needs a renovation.
The property needs proper upkeep. The wooden flooring is coming off. The nails are popping out, hurt my foot. Handrails and shower coming off.

The Damchen Resort ambience is good. Its beside the River bed and photogenic place. Deluxe rooms are good as compared to standard room. Its old property, so better to stay in deluxe rooms which are River facing

Very spacious rooms with amazing view of the River stream from the room. A nice restaurant and well behaved staff.

U booked for me deluxe room but they provide me standard room in same price.

overall, it was a good experience. We had a river view room and it was good stay.
We exchanged standard room to deluxe room because deluxe room have river view. So, overall it was a nice experience.

We had taken the River Side room and it was really awesome. Room was really big and spacious. Only the wifi is really too slow. Apart from that everything was great.

It was an excellent stay in Damchen Resort.

Stayed here for 2 nights. It was a wonderful experience. The staffs are very attentive and what I liked the most is the view of the river.

Very close to the Punakha dzong and besides of the river. Great ambience and location. Room service was very good. Behaviour of the receptionist was very good and delicious breakfast.

Location is excellent. Just beside a beautiful River.
