I had stayed there for two days ans there was no electricity and no access to wifi. There was no resolution provided by the staff.

This was a family trip, location is nice, but the upkeep and maintenance of the property is extremely poor, an unkempt property, i had visited 5 yrs back, but now everything looks very old and unmaintained, the owner is clearly not interested in investing and keeping the property clean and new, i was staying in cottages, there is not much view also, poorly made i would say. All in all i would never stay here again

Beautiful property and beautiful view, common room or restaurant is beautiful designed enough space food is average, rooms and washroom is clean beds are very comfortable, although it's difficult to reach at this property if u are visiting here first time make sure you carry less lugguage if u choose to walk it takes alot to walk mountains, if u can hire some taxi etc do that the location is again tricky to track rest it's good to be there i stayed for a day it's value for money if u decide to stay for longer

The location is decent, a bit far from the mcleodganj main square. Cafeteria food is average. Services are slow. In terms of amenities, it's quite good. The staff is friendly. A lot of things can be worked out.

Best in dharamkot. Stay! party! repeat!

Just t 100 words? ever since i have come back from alt life, i feel i am not at home now! best environment for relax, socialise, work, so mch of space for individuality, most people in dharamkot come here for the best parties, specially on weekends, in terms of food, it can fail your local most instagramable spots! do do stay here!

Worst experience

First of all, the place looked completely different from the photos. The guy at the reception was extremely creepy. Before we arrived he was texting us on whatsapp. We did not reply as we found it very creepy. And then when we reached he was asking us why we didn’t respond. We brushed it off by saying that we didn’t see his message. But he kept sulking and staring at us. Now, our dorm had another guest. This made the whole experience creepier than it already was. He was walking in the room in his underwear. I believe he slept naked as well. Calling it disgusting is an understatement. Last night, when we were already in bed, he came to the room and removed his shirt infront of us. Today morning he got down from his bed just wearing his underwear. He walked around like that for a while and then he tried to take something from his bunk bed while my friend was sitting right down. His torso was infront of her face. Eventually he wore a vest or t shirt or some sort but still kept roaming around in the underwear. It was trying to talk to us also in the meantime. Me and my friend was extremely uncomfortable. And these kind of behaviours shouldn’t be encouraged by the hotels staff. This is so pathetic.

Hotel is good but didnt get the room which i booked from the make my trip as i booked room as it was mountain facing and the service is good for the alt life the night was good as there is karoke night and i stayed earlier with friends

I booked superior cottage. Room was good enough but service was really bad. In dinner roti was sour. Room light were not fully functional which were not corrected even after bringing it to their attention.

Its good option but the guy sit on reception have some allotment issue as there is alws some issues in dormant bed. Good location and peaceful environment. Cafe is good with nice food and good siting arrangement

Good place to relax

It's a good place to relax, however the road leading to it is very narrow and tricky. The food is good here. The rooms don't have a telephone, you'll be given a mobile number to connect with the reception. It's basically nitpicking at this point. Overall it was nice but for young people strictly. It's a hostel concept, btw.

Alt life is located at the best view point of dharamkot. Food and service are at its best. Staff is really helpful and supportive. Rooms are clean and fully furnished. This is a must stay if you are planning to stay at some quite place just few minutes away from bhagsu and main market.

Miserable and unforgettable experience of stay

Below issues are faced by us- 1. Manager is very rude and non cooperative for any issues we have raised he has answered you have booked deluxe room so you wl not get access to tv, hot water and other facilities what we have been told at the time of booking. 2. Inspite of booking well in advance for 2 nights we have not been allotted room with a nature view and others at the same time in front of us is allotted and manager is giving reason the same is not allotted to you as you have booked for 2 nights what sense it makes i do not understand. 3. Television is not working since we have checked in inspite of noticing the same at the time of check-in and after dinner too manager told us it will take 2-3 hours time to process. 4. Due to personal reasons we have to vacate the hotel after day 1 and accordingly we requested manager multiple times but he is giving unprofessional reasons such as our senior is on honeymoon tour in bali and it's not in his control although one customer was ready to occupy in front us. If someone is traveling around 1000 kms and getting the experience as mentioned above one would never ever recommend again to stay here. Staff must be supportive and manager is totally unsupportive and non cooperative.

Pros * view from the property is amazing * rooms are near and clean * ambience of cafe style restaurant is good * board games provided and music add a fun factor cons * this property is located at the peak on dharamkot to difficult to access * roads and slopes are too much steep to its risky to self drive so have to be dependent on cab * the cab drivers freelancing there charge too much even for small visits * for sightseeing and hanging out in mcleodganj and dharamshala have to be dependent on cab drivers and they are not helpful when it comes to travel. They get into unnecessary arguments and are rude. Note this part of review is just related to the cabs providers at the hotel. * food is served too late. Even just 2 parathas that we ordered for breakfast were served after 1. 5 hours. They should really work on this. Also if they are allowing cab organizers to be at the property then they should look into it that the customers get decent service.

The best hostel

The hostel is in the upper dharamkot and is very peaceful. Perfect for solo travellers as well as groups. I absolutely loved staying here as the staff is very good, food is amazing, hygiene level is superb. Plus, the vibe of the hostel is also very good.

So we visit dharamkhot, and good news the place does have accessible roads if you come by car. And is very close to their shopping area - about a 500m trek. The food at the hostel is also up to par and the staff is friendly. We were underwhelmed by the room and had pointed out that we were told we would have a balcony but our room did not, which was obviously disappointing, they could not give us another room because they were fully booked.

The people, staff , and other locals are so great ,humble and lovable 💖. Food has no comparison, whatever so eat is delicious, what else you need if you find delicious food in mountains. This was my 3 rd stay in altlife.
