The rooms were stupendous! the place is awesome. People are good. Location is also great. The price of stay is on the higher side but worth it.

There are no facilities, luxuries, parking or food for the money. That much money is too much for this mansion

The stay was pathetic. The rooms are full of dust not cleaned properly. For going rest room every time you need to climb the steps. Balcony place was so slippery and we cannot walk. Bathroom was very untidy with dust everywhere. Ac flow was not good they have kept pedestal fans which is making lot of sounds. No room service and after 9;30 pm no support staff. We paid this huge money to get a painful experience.

Truly an impeccable experience with the way the staffs received their guests and explained all the facilities of the mansion. 100yr old mansion boasts high ceilings and traditional chettinad interiors. Food was average in authenticity.

1. While staff is friendly and supportive, the estate manager is extremely rude 2. The chettinad food is no where near the basic level expected, i have had many chettinad cuisine in bangalore, but food here is just simple tasteless food. 3. Rooms are not well maintained, not many facilities around karaikudi town and they don’t have a running restaurant. 4. Very expensive food for the quality given. 5. Surroundings of the town are very poorly maintained. 6. Poor lighting around the property, scary for kids and older people as there are no lifts and dark passages to navigate around

They have given priority to foreigners when i pointed it out then they took care of me which felt off.

A decent heritage mansion in a beautiful village

Chettinadu mansion was one of two chettiyar mansions we stayed in. The location is excellent. It's adjoining chettinad palace and the entire village is a beautiful place to explore. The place itself was underwhelming. They make you take off shoes outside the mansion but the floors are always dirty/dusty inside. The food options are limited and you have to order lunch/dinner hours before. Taste is ok, not impressive. Breakfast is just sad. Service is significantly lacking and the rooms are difficult to access for anyone who is not able bodied. Even within the rooms you have to climb stairs to the bathroom. The place is like an airbnb and at the cost it is (i paid 6. 5k for one night) i think you can explore other options as well.

Room are good, no proper response from staff, if we call to them no one answered, we have to go directly to get everything, maintenance issues, often electricity gets problem need to improve a lot

The whole trip at chettinad mansion was so beautiful and memorable good costumer service and staffs are so friendly and pretty beautiful place so peaceful and happy stay. Good ambience so traditional and authentic food and happy and satisfied

The place is acceptable. Heritage house and has been in many movies. The chettinad palace is closed and requires special permission to get inside. People with kids will not find anything interesting. Maximum one day. Food is a major let down. I am vegetarian and karaikudi has a unique flavour for food. But the hotel made no attempts to bring that in dinner or breakfast. It was watery food and very limited items.

Chettinad villages were beyond my expectations and the opportunity to stay inside a chetinad house was nothing less than a great experience. Chettinad mansion also had the current owner staying there and we were able to speak a lot with him and his life at chettinad and house. The hotel staff was amazingly friendly and professional. I liked the fact that all the staff are from the same village and they made the stay super coo l. The building - what do you say ! amazing built 100 years back and nothing less than a palace.
