Review of The Hosteller Shimla – A Terrible Experience My stay at The Hosteller Shimla was nothing short of a nightmare, I expected a hassle-free experience but encountered several issues: 1. Inaccessible Location: The property is in a "no vehicle zone," requiring a 2 km uphill walk from the nearest paid parking (near the lift). This trek is exhausting and impractical, especially with luggage. 2. Unexpected Costs: ₹200 per bag, totaling ₹600 for my luggage. Private Vehicle Charges: ₹600 for a local drop to the property. Bike Parking: ₹150 per day. These hidden costs nearly matched the price of my bunk bed, making the stay outrageously expensive. 3. Lack of Amenities: The property provides no parking or support for logistics, and these challenges are not communicated during booking, leaving travelers stranded. Conclusion This property is a nightmare for those seeking convenience and transparency. Hidden costs, lack of basic amenities, and poor support make it a waste of time and money. I strongly advise against staying here. Avoid at all costs!

The location was great. I liked the services given by the team at the reception. Girl named bib-ha was really nice and helpful. She helped us with all our queries and guided us properly. I'd highly recommend this property to anyone visiting shimla.

The property location is good however a little high you need to walk. Good washrooms and cleanliness is there. You have to be prepared for gender mix dorms. The managers were very helpful. Food i did not have.

The location of the hosteller is really amazing, few minutes away from mall road, be prepared for a climb as it is located at a height. The staff is extremely friendly and cooperative. The room was good, i had opted for an all female dorm. The house keeping also was done from time to time. Drinking water was available on every floor. Hot water for a bath was always available. There are excellent options for breakfast, dinner in their canteen. I would definitely recommend this place highly especially if you are a solo traveler.
