The woman at the front deal is the most pleasant person we've met in a long time. She was wonderful. The room was great too, clean and comfortable. The balcony was large with a great view. Breakfast was delicious and everything went smoothly.
The property was good for the stay. Wifi quality was not that great.
Lovely place close to river walk and restaurants. Staff was helpful, breakfast was on the patio making for a quaint european experience.
4 night stay and as others have mentioned the staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was okay if all you need is a bed for the night and are travelling all day. It's about a 15-20 minute walk from the centre of town/train station. Has a lovely restaurant next door with views overlooking the lake.
Lovely traditional hotel and friendly staff! In a quiet area with an excellent restaurant next door. Would definitely stay again!

david.partnerJul 18, 2022 This was a great stay at a very reasonable price for Lecco, we had a double room with a small balcony and it was quite comfortable. The area around the hotel is beautiful, being on the lakeside and with two or three restaurants or bars very close, the one next door is very popular. The team at the hotel are very helpful and if you are planning to get a taxi from the airport the cost of a hotel shuttle is considerably less than a Milan taxi. I would stay here again. A couple of notes for others the rooms are small with limited storage and there are no lifts if you are in any way unsteady on your feet, although the owners were very helpful with our bags. Our A/C was ok if not perfect and there is no minibar and the TV was somewhat smaller than 32” - but these are just notes for others not complaints. All in all an ideal location to walk into Lecco or tour the area

the hotel does not have a parking, as advertised. Luggage must be carried to the 2nd store on a narrow staircase.

Expensive for what is has to offer
Authentic small European hote in a picturesque location right on the river. Service was personable and very helpful. We stay everytime we visit Lecco.
Perfect Hotel ran by a lovely couple
We had a lovely stay at Don Abbodino, we were a little apprehensive about staying in Lecco as it is not as popular as the other towns of Lake Como, however do not worry it has a perfect charm, stunning vistas, wonderful restaurants and atmosphere. Our room on the top floor was a great size with a huge modern bathroom, and incredibly light, the AC worked a treat. Breakfast was well served and a great selection of items to choose from. Great brioches and Coffee thank you Josephine! Luciano helped us hire bikes, and told us of his favourite restaurants to visit for traditional Italian food. We recommend hiring bikes and cycling around, swimming at the local lecco beach and enjoying aperol spritz where you can! We’re coming again soon I hope! For travellers concerned about COVID - 19 every floor has hand sanitiser and masks are worn by the staff at all times. Thank you Alex and Asia.
Very good hotel in a lovely and quiet location next to the lakeside and a number of restaurants close by for the evening. The proprietors were welcoming and helpful, the - charming and traditional- hotel was clean and comfortable, and we would happily stay there again.
There was a decent breakfast buffet, mainly continental style with croissants and various cakes, but it also included ham, cheeses, bread and a toastie machine as well as a small selection of cereals, so there was plenty of choice.
The location was also very convenient, a 20 minute walk into the centre (slightly longer along the lakeside path) or 25 minutes to the train station (with regular trains to Milan, Bergamo or up the lake) and Lecco itself is a pleasant town.
All in all a very good holiday!
Lovely Don Abbondio Hotel in Lecco, Lake Como
I had a very pleasant stay, will be back in the future! The hotel is at the right, southern end of Lake Como. It is a modest yet very comfortable place. Of course you can pay more than a thousand Euro to stay in a luxury hotel at upper lake.
The hotel is owned and run by a lovely couple, who were very helpful in finding attractions, activities for you, starting days before check-in with emails. They offer very speedy WiFi and excellent free breakfast including served hot drinks. A nice restaurant is nearby, supermarket is in walking distance (15 min)
I used train and ferry to travel to cities in upper lake. Walk to Lecco train station is about 20 min, taxi about 15 Euro, bus 1 is very convenient. Do be careful about the exact bus stop at the train station, it may not be at the front.
Lecco is a vibrant city full of energy. Do visit the tourist center for detail planning, the staffs are extremely kind and helpful.
This is my first trip to Italy. I am in love!
Great hotel for a great price
Great hosts, nice room (ours had a balcony) and good location.
Lovely, historic location..
This gem of a hotel is off the highway, but not far. It is safe, comfortable, and the hosts are terrific. There are two fine restaurants in the immediate area, again, not exposed to hurried or incidental customers. It is an authentic gem of a place and we loved our night there. If you choose this for your lodging, you will be patting yourself on the back for your astuteness!
Great family run hotel. Excellent location facing a small square on the river. Two restaurants nearby. Cycleway along the river. Only downside is parking, but I had no trouble finding a free street parking site around the corner.

We very much enjoyed the riverfront location, friendly service and proximity to two great restaurants. Lovely little square. No. 1 bus takes you to station.
On the River & easy bus or walking to attractions
Hopefully the renovations are completed by now. We stayed 4 nights and everyday there was NOISY construction in the hotel with drilling & hammers. Even while eating our breakfast, it was awful. Otherwise, I think it would have been a very pleasant place to stay. Ferry boats were not open in Lecco in October so stay in another city on Lake Como to catch the Ferry to the towns around the lake.
