This is one of the best experiences I had. I enjoyed the authentic Japanese hospitality. I was greeted and escorted to the lobby. The staff led me to my room showing me all the facilities. The room is spacious and impeccably clean. The area is serene, and the Beppu Park is right next to the Hotel, which I enjoyed in a morning walk.

Overall, this was a pleasant first-time ryokan experience. I was very impressed with the attention and care provided to my needs, to my luggage, and to the time the staff spent on communicating the offerings of the ryokan. The amount of access to the on-premises hot springs was decent, the dinner meal provided was more than enough for two grown men to handle, and the morning buffet of healthy breakfast items and some local Beppu dishes were great.
With the exception of the surprise bathing bill that I had to unexpectedly pay on checkout (maybe I missed it during the check-in explanation), I was overall very impressed.
Amazing hotel and onsen in Beppu
I really enjoyed Hana Beppu and strongly recommend it both for solo and family trips. The onsen is just amazing and the whole environment is just superb. I shall definitely come back.
Great hotel, great staff in a cool laidback city.
Sleeping four on the floor in one room was a challenge for us but common in Japan.
The staffs and the dinner were very good.
But I was disappointed that the dining room was rather too simple, boring, no flowers, no pictures or any decorations… just too practical!!
Modern Japanese traditionally themed hotel
Wanted to have a nice end to my holiday and decided to pick a Japanese themed stay ans a Kaiseki dinner. Booked this hotel with half board and it was such a great experience.
They don’t speak English very well but they try their very best to communicate with you through translation apps, so no worries about being understood.
What impressed me was how clean they were. They thoroughly cleaned our luggage wheels before they were transported to our rooms. Perhaps that was because the whole place was covered with tatami mats and we were only allowed to walk around in our socks. They had a lovely garden in their lobby. Free access to their guests’ ONSEN. We are already making plans to come back again!
The natural onsen was great, and it was right next to the train station, and the staff were amazing
Within easy walking-distance from JR Beppu Station or Beppu-bound bus stops.
We travelled straight from Fukuoka International Airport to Beppu using a bus that allowed us to alight near Beppu City Hall. From there, it was an easy 5-minute walk.
The property is extremely clean, comfortable and welcoming. The staff are friendly and courteous.
English is not very well-spoken by the staff but Google Translate and body language is enough to get by.
Wonderful hot springs public bath. Private bath is available with a cost.
We had Japanese style breakfast which was yum and worth the money.
I will definitely consider staying at Hana Beppu again.
Hotel with warm and friendly staffs
You will experience how friendly and helpful the staffs are once you entered the hotel. No shoes allowed inside the hotel, makes you feel at home.
Private onsen within the hotel.
Slight complain will be the road noise at night. Although our unit were not road facing.

Hotel is not far away from the JR and bus station.
Room is spacious, clean and come with complimentary candy and jelly.
Staff is really nice and friendly. When they saw us taking picture, they offered to help us.
Would love to stay in the hotel again.

Modern clean Ryokan with large in&outdoor onsen
Modern ryokan with very clean onsen (indoor and outdoor). Bamboo floor and wall decorations giving it a very clean and modern feel. Traditional Japanese room is large with a large bathroom (not that u need as onsen is very large too) and separate toilet.
