I stayed in the room with the terrace on the top floor for 7 nights. It's an interesting hotel with a lot of character. Pros: view of blue mosque from the terrace at night is mystical, the hostess is amazing at directing everyone to really interesting adventures and giving you some sense of the grandeur of Istanbul, the location is just enough out of the tourist flow to feel interesting but still close to the main tourist attractions. Cons: a few maintenance flaws in the bathroom, some of the stuff is a bit old, walking up the hill to the metro stop was fun at first but got old after 7 days of it. Overall I recommend it, you get a taste of old Istanbul while still being right next to the big tourist attractions. The little flaws appeared as charming.

Secure, friendly, affordable lodging close to Old City touristic sites. Challenging to find the first time from public transit. Family run business, small rooms. Ours had a roof deck with sea view. We’d stay here again.

Lovely place in the old city
Great place and everyone was so nice. The hotel is a lovely place right at the center of the old city thus close to all major place worth visiting.we had a lovely room at the top with a view on the city partial sea view. Breakfast was nice. And they will organise transport to airport with very reasonable rates.

caroline.family_with_childrenMay 29, 2022 A fantastic gem. A sweet small boutique hotel with an expert host. Wonderful hidden location with close access to the blue mosque and all the sites. Beautiful spot with flowers and lovely restaurants next door. We are from the US and needed a Covid test to get home, the hotel called and had a nurse come and do the test for $10, it made everything so easy. Our family will be back soon, it was a wonderful place.
Very Good Hotel, very friendly an helpful staff, it has a very homely feel.
The lady at reception was always smiling and always greeted me with a warm welcome every time I came through the reception.

I've been to Istanbul a few times and this was by far the best hotel so far.

My shower was a bit small could just about fit but i managed so not a major issue.

Amazing stay at Ahmet Efendi Evi and will definitely come back. The Hotel is at walking distance from all the major touristic attractions despite being located in a quiet and very picturesque area. The Owner and staff are absolutely amazing people that genuinely care about providing a fantastic experience and stay. I entered as a guest and left as a friend, This place is a real gem!
I had an amazing stay at Ahmet Efendi Evi. Thank you to the owner, Gonul, her son Jonus and housekeeper Musa for their friendliness, kindness and hospitality to make my stay a memorable one. I've always stayed in chain hotels being on vacation but after staying at Ahmet Efendi Evi I will never stay in chain hotels anymore. I've met so many people at this little gem and some became friends. Ahmet Efendi Evi is so central to explore Istanbul by foot. I will be back in August / Sept. Thanks again Gonul, Jonus and Musa!!!

A warm welcome awaits you at Ahmet efendi evi .. the hosts are lovely and freindly and happy to help you in any way they can ..we had the family room which has a living room area and separate bedroom which was great as we were staying 11 nights. Breakfast and fresh coffee was made for us each morning and gave us a good start to the day . The location is great in a quite area within walking distance of the blue mosque and the grand bazaar and walking distance to the hook up to the local transport system , trams, trains,buses,underground and boats. Plenty of good shops and restaurants nearby. Or if you want a delivery the hosts will happily order in for you . This is not a posh hotel its a home from home freindly clean comfortable quiet place that you can feel at ease in . A great base for your adventures in istanbul. Will definitely come back here .

Nice and affordable hotel in a great location. Owner and staff are very helpful and friendly. Large room and quite location( except for the morning prayer call from the mosque which are everywhere).
