Hotel Gakyil

The Hotel Gakyil is location wise a perfect choice for the whole trip. The quality of Room, View and Services were really very good. We visited this Hotel Gakyil during my 10th marriage anniversary. I really did not expect such a warm welcome, what I got there. They provided one of the best Room with excellent Room Decoration (specially done for me), and gave a Peach Wine Bottle as my anniversary Gift. Overall services and behavior of the staffs was really very good. I would love to stay here again, without any doubt, if I ever visit this place again, and strongly recommend this Hotel Gakyil for others. Only one problem I found was, there was no Parking facility/facility for staying food for the driver. We had to arrange those separately.
As I visited it for my 10th anniversary they showed excellent gesture, provided beautiful room decoration and gifted a Lovely Peach Wine. Apart from it all the amenities were good enough. Loved the stay there.

Outstanding rooms with great views of Thimphu city, beds were very cozy and quilts warm and nice. The bathroom wan neat and tidy and had hot and cold water running always. The room was well lit and had complementary room heater. The food in the restaurant was excellent but expensive. The staff can be a bit more prompt. Overall the experience was very satisfying and memorable. Thanks gaykil. I would definitely recommend it to others.
All pros and no cons. Outstanding view from Hotel Gakyil window of the Thimpu city, outstanding room quality and amenities, bed was cozy and quilts very warm and comfortable. The room was well lit up and had complementary heater.

The Hotel Gakyil is centrally and ideally located. The rooms were neat and sufficiently spacious. The initial room had blocked views at both sides. We requested for a room change which was accommodated and was given a room at top floor which had a good view of the Hills and Town. We loved the food at the restaurant. The specifically liked the way the Hotel Gakyil manager Ms Rai addressed our concerns and also inquired about our experience during the stay. She appeared to be a professional who cares for the Hotel Gakyil image and its customers. Highly recommended.

Their welcome, attendance, cooperation and politeness really excellent. Breakfast is sufficient and Indian foods served at dinner were also very good. The best part is due to non-availability of immigration permit to visit and stay at Punakha on 6th, on my request, the Hotel Gakyil authority showed their courtesy and extended my stay with them one day more. I am very much thankful to them. My best wishes to every staff members of Gakyil.

The view of outside was very nice, we can see it by the window of the Hotel Gakyil. I am very happy, I like the TV most and desk was finely crafted. I like it's shape. The almirah was too big to fit my all the luggage.
I like the room. It was very big. The staff was very friendly. The location is very prime. But I disliked the water heater because hot water was not coming proper. Electric kettle was also not good.

Location: It's is situated in the heart of the city. The primmest location possible. Food: The food is good. An Indianised version of food available. I would recommend to take a breakfast buffet while booking for a sumptuous meal. Service: Service is good. The only problem is ventilation for the room with no balcony. Else the rooms are in good condition and the Hotel Gakyil staff is really supportive.

The Hotel is situated at a great location, central to Thimpu Town and most of the monuments. The Hotel and the rooms are very comfortable. The staff too is extremely alert, courteous and helpful. The restaurant serves good food. Wifi works with great speed too. The view from my room too was beautiful. Clean linen, comfortable mattress and good daily housekeeping. Perfect staying here!

Hotel Gaykil, is a very good Hotel Gakyil, in the main vicinity of city. The front staff and others too were pleasantly responsive, very good and attention paying staff. Food at their restaurant was so good and delicious, we have no words to describe. My room was on the fourth floor, the view of football stadium and the market was splendid. I want to recommend it as the best stay.

Stayed for three nights. Good location. Best part is the Hotel Gakyil has lift, though no fan in the room. Nearby market is there and the hand craft bakery is just a 10 min walk from the Hotel Gakyil. Staffs are good. Food is also good in the restaurant but service in the restaurant is slow. Overall it's a good stay and we enjoyed. Certainly a recommendable Hotel Gakyil.

We were on 3 nights four days trip to Bhutan. We were soo happy as the location was in center of Thimphu near clock tower within the market area. Room was very clean and tidy. Staff was very courteous. We enjoyed vegetarian food, the quality was like home made. The way they serve is wonderful. We love to be in the same Hotel during second visit.

Our stay was fantastic, Hotel staffs were more than cooperative. The location adds more brownie points as because it is located next to the clock tower. This is the market area with abundant restaurants, curio shops etc. Don't forget to visit the night clubs when you are here, all the good ones are 5 min walk from the Hotel.

Very nice location. Facilities are limited. Need some cleanliness. Bathroom doesn't have adequate hot water. Rooms are little small. Heart of City. Food was bit high rates. Rooms are comparably small. WiFi need to be improved up on. Food is not costly. But staff is superb and very much concerned.

Situated right in the town near the clock tower, accessible to most good clubs and cafes. Staff was friendly and helpful.

All service staff are not service pro but lady supervisor (don't know her name) is very customer centric. No dormitory provision for driver, (which is common trend in most Hotel Gakyils in Bhutan) so if you hire car for entire trip, be cautious

The room was cozy n clean. Nice view from the balcony. But Hotel was unable to provide sufficient hot water for Bath.

Hotel Gakyi is an extremely guest friendly. Hotel which gets full points for it's cleanliness, location, behavior of staff and food quality.

This Hotel is located just you say at clock tower and rooms are very clean. Room have big screen television also. Go for it.

Location is in the heart of the city, room is very clean, room service is good.

The only issue we had everywhere is the smell of beef and pork surrounds all over, the areas including rooms should have room fresheners and fragrant oil diffusers everywhere.

The Hotel is located centrally n is very good. I have been staying there since it opened. The ambience is good. I would certainly refer this Hotel to others

The Hotel is located at a great location. The rooms are fine. The geysers work fine. Complimentary tea was served. However the Hotel could improve in the communication skills of the staff. And a few more bottles of water could have made the stay more comfortable. Overall stay was comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay at Gakyil Hotel Gakyil. The manager sushila Rai and rest of the staff was very cooperative and made our stay memorable. Will visit again next year.
